We have stayed at this hotel several times but not for a few years. Sadly, they have made some cuts. The location cannot be beat. It is central to pubs, sights, and shops. However, the full English breakfast has been reduced to continental. Also, substandard tea and these coffee teabags which are undrinkable -- instant coffee would be much better....

Clean and nice hotel in old building, very centrally located. We had a room with very tall windows letting in plenty of light. Breakfast was served in the ground floor café. Staff was very nice and helpful, went out to buy more yogurt when they ran out of it in the morning. No elevator, but grandma age 85 managed all...

Convenient location, right in the heart of the city centre, next to historic university buildings. No parking so we left our car in the park & ride and took the bus. Building is full of character and period features, although stairs might be awkward for some. Room was small but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast is continental style...

I stayed there just for one night and I loved every minute of it. Incredibly nice Staff, central location in the city and a lovely room. One thing I would like to mention, during the night the party goers outside were in quite a good mood, but that is not the hotels fault. I still felt quiet relaxed and would...

Horrific service, the staff were incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude towards their customers. Not worth the money, will never be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone. Do not waste your time with this awful place.

This review is very strange, we have not been aware of any unresolved problems recently. We notice this is your first review with tripadvisor and would appreciate if you could let us know the room number you stayed in and what the problem was so we can look into this. We are never happy to think a genuine customer had...

Went with family - 2 children and stayed in room 101. Good points were - FABULOUS location, clean and comfortable with all expected facilities, albeit the toilet seat was broken and part of the door laminate falling off which gave an air of shabbyness. BUT beware we were at the front and really noisy on a Saturday night (students mainly,...

I booked this last minute (as an escape from an awful hotel my partner and I were supposed to be staying at), and we did not experience one hiccup at all. Considering we'd only booked an hour or so before arriving, the staff had everything ready for us and even allowed us to check in early. The staff were polite,...

The best thing about this hotel is its location.Unfortunately it ends there. The hotel has no lifts and no obvious entrance ther buttery being a snack bar adjacent to a red door which we found was the entrance. At breakfast we went down the three levels into the street and then tried to enter the buttery where breakfast was served,...

Went for breakfast, plates cold so was food, asked for beans to be heated in microwave but still just lukewarm. Really for nearly £8 it wasn't good enough. Cakes looked good but I'd go elsewhere if you want hot food.

Excellent location in the centre of Oxford, with easy access to everything. Stairs up to the first floor reception with rooms, and then up again to the second and third floor rooms are not for the faint-hearted. Little road noise as pedestrian precinct outside. The room is very clean, comfortable and warm, but not cheap. Shower experience was not great....
