I ah a conference booked at the college and opted to stay on site although this was not advertised as an option. It was the best decision, I chose to pay for a room within the college walls and although arriving after 10pm at night I was wowed by the experience. The Porters man the desk 24 hours so I... More

It is great accommodation. The room which I stayed was Grove Quad. It is very large. The bathroom has shower, basin and window. It is very clean. The room has big desk towards big window, mini fridge, electric kettle, wardrobe, book shelf and 2 chairs. Breakfast is provided in the Great Hall every morning from 8:00 to 9:30. You can... More

Thanks to the college and all of the staff for making our daughters wedding very special. Beginning with the porter who politely greeted us upon arrival and showed us our room and assisted our efforts with unloading our wedding paraphernalia and ending with another porter who did the same for pack up, and everyone in between. Chapel and reception staff... More

We stayed in a double room with a private bathroom in the Longwall Annex, just around the corner from the High Street entrance to Magdalen College. Our room was clean and neat, with nice bedding and toiletries. Although there was no TV, we didn't miss it for the 2 days we were here -- we went to a concert and... More

I was very surprised after a very long trip to arrive at my accommodation in Waynflete to find a shabby room with a very dirty carpet, and 1 of the 2 toilets on my floor broken. The rest of the bathroom was not very clean either, with bathmats apparently used over and over. In the 3 days I spent there,... More

Waynflete student accommodation is not the sort of thing you see on Inspector Morse--no beautiful quad guarded by an avuncular porter. It is actually across the bridge from the college proper, on top of a Sainsbury's--which is convenient. The rooms are classic British scrubby but functional. They are clean and certainly fit for purpose. Bathrooms are shared--men and women together.

The Waynflete accommodation is above Sainsbury but this is better than it sounds!! This basic student room is great if all you are doing is sleeping there and sight seeing or conferencing. There are no frills but it is clean and the single bed was comfortable. Bathrooms are down the corridor but the room has tea and coffee makings and... More

This is a wonderful place to stay because of the architecture and the stunning views of the college. The accommodation itself is absolutely fine as well, but fairly standard. My partner and I were there for a conference, and found the room cozy and clean. That being said, we had to sleep in separate beds in the room, and I... More

The web description promised towels and an elevator. There were no towels until the third night of our four-night stay. There was no usable elevator; the elevator was full of trash, but we were allowed to use it to lift our luggage up two flights. This, plus the unexpected fact that the "ground" floor was one flight up, made us... More

I'm afraid we do not state we have an elevator. There is a goods lift but this is not advertised. More

Assuming you want the full Oxford 'experience', be sure to book rooms in the main building and not in Waynflete, which is a separate, modern block just over the river. Cheaper, but without any of the atmosphere. We had a rather mixed time at Magdalen, having booked 3 single rooms for an overnight stay on a cycling trip. First we... More
