we stayed here 4th July. On arrival we felt very relaxed. The hotel is modern with a difference. On the lines of modern/boutique. Tastefully furnished bright and airey. Our bathroom was quite glamorous with a shower/no bath and lovely smelling toiletries. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast the quality and presentation equal to the 'big brand' hotels. Whilst not having...

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel - comfortable, clean, quiet - away from the student hubbub. Just perfect for a night's rest. I also actually used the room to get ready to go to a ball, and it served this purpose well too! Good mirrors / hairdryers aka perfect getting ready facilities... Another huge plus: the car park... vital...

We stayed at The Galaxie with another couple as we were going wine tasting in Henley. The day before I got a phone call off a lovely lady asking what time we would be arriving so our rooms would be ready. When we arrived she knew who we were straight away. As I don't like lifts she walked me up...

Galaxie is not a hotel as such, but hotel-like bed & breakfast. It's 20-30 minutes walk to the city centre. There is no normal hotel services like the bar or a restaurant (restaurant was only open for breakfast). Room was ok, but there was no air-conditioning.

The hotel is conveniently located on a major street not too far from the City Centre and the colleges. Not only is it easy to find, there are a number of diverse eating places in the immediate vicinity. If you are driving, be aware that off-street parking is limited and not easy to access in a large vehicle. Rooms are...

I have used The Galaxie frequently during my time studying part-time at Oxford as a mature student. They have looked after me beautifully. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff are such nice people. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with great attention to detail. The breakfast room is charming and the breakfast excellent, with so much choice. The garden...

I've returned from a 1 night stay in Oxford. The Galaxie is a newly refurbished guest house/ hotel, with a breakfast room, parking area and varied, very attractive outdoor space. It is close enough to Oxford city centre to be convenient - 5 min bus ride from just outside, whilst being 10 mins drive from the ring road. I received...

Nice hotel, which with a few small tweaks would take a big jump up in quality. Would rate 3.5 stars if TripAdvisor allowed. Rooms nicely decorated and well appointed - some have fridge/ kitchenette (three rooms in our party). Showers low pressure. Good selection for breakfast in a nice setting. Good location. Walkable into town but simple enough to hope...

It is in Oxford, it is well placed and is £90, so verses the other offerings it is very good. Yes it has no permanent receptionist and no aircon in the room but rated against the local merket I would stay again, though admittedly in the height of Summer the loft room I had would be baking. Good bed and...
