We stayed here for 1 night as we had been given a river cruise boat trip as a gift so the guesthouse is very conveniently located near to where you go on the boat trips. Actually its only really a 10 minute walk to the centre of Oxford and even closer to the river walk so a really great location....

The three nights we recently spent at the Lakeside guest house were most enjoyable. Our en suite room was spotless, light, airy and very well appointed. Breakfast provided a wide choice of fruit and cereals etc with the cooked options prepared to order. Bacon and sausages were top quality with as much tea, coffee and toast as you wanted. The owners...

We were given a room at the top of the back stairs (Room 8) which was very comfortable, clean and quiet. I kinda expected a lake, but I suppose this does not figure into my commentary as it was too cold to enjoy it anyway, but the name seems curious. Breakfast was very good, served in a nice little room...

Stayed for 2 nights recently and it was fine. Were given an upgrade as rooms were available. The double room we were to have as a couple was given to my son and we were relieved as the 'private bathroom' was down a flight of stairs and not, as I perhaps might have expected, next door, for those trips to...

Stayed for two nights and we were glad to get out of the place. I booked a room with "private bathroom", which I found was a tiny bathroom down a tight flight of stairs. On reflection, I suppose I should have booked an ensuite but from my limited hotel booking experience I genuinely assumed a private bathroom would be at...

We booked this guesthouse at the last minute and were upgraded to a lovely room. The service we received was excellent throughout, the breakfast was superb. With on site parking and such good service we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We had to postpone our original booking from last December as the gig we had travelled to Oxford to see had rescheduled to January. Thanks Hozier, it was worth the wait! Despite the Hotels 'no cancellation no refund' policy, they were most understanding and thankfully accomodated us. Two super quality rooms, easy walk into town, and great breakfast....... many thanks.

The Lakeside Guesthouse is a nice place to stay and just a five-minute bus ride to downtown Oxford. I only gave it an average rating, however, because it was overpriced at 130 pounds per night (double + child). For 100 pounds, I would have given it four stars. The room was nicely appointed, but the bathroom smelled mildewy (so we...

Hosts Daniela and Martin were an absolute delight- very helpful and tentative during our stay. The room was great - the bed was super comfy and the shower was nice and powerful. The breakfast was very tasty indeed! Great location and easy access into Oxford town. Highly recommend to all.

We stayed here on a Saturday night while in Oxford to see a show. On arrival our twin room was upgraded to a double room as there had been a cancellation. We were able to look at both the rooms before deciding to switch to the double - both rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was apart...
