I have stayed in quite a few different hotels in Reading and I was a bit disappointed with the room I stayed in. It was very very small and very basic and very over priced for the room. Continental breakfast was fine and priced ok. However I don't think they really cater for the business traveller. Badly in need of...

This hotel is in an old building, but even apart from that it has the atmosphere of an old style British hotel. This is not necessarily a bad thing but some of the corridors remind you of something of decades passed. And the lack of lifts is something I would imagine the less fit – or those with luggage on...

Stayed 2 nights in March 2017. Great location for central Reading and the Oracel shopping centre, reception average, room average - was on the top floor of the maze (about 4 sets of stairs - no lifts). Clean and bed was extremely comfortable. Looked out onto a concrete courtyard. Fridge in room that was empty but can be used for...

Booked to stay here because it looked like a hotel with character. Unfortunately that character meant I had to negotiate numerous narrow staircases and passageways to get to my room. Not easy with a suitcase an arthritic hip and a lack of bannisters. On finding the room I knew it wasn't going to be good when I saw a pair...

Stayed here on business for 1 night. At the top of 2 very squeaky staircases I had a single bed which was extremely uncomfortable. If I thought the stairs were squeaky I hadn't prepared for the room! A dark & dingy room in what seemed to be the attic. I went for dinner, ordered lasagne & a glass of coke,...

Great style and comfort. Super clean. Friendly staff. Good wifi. Central location in shopping area, and 2 minuts walk to train/bus station. Old building, so you will have to lift your bags up the stairs. Corridors is a Maze, I found it Charming.

The Mecure George is a good economical choice for accommodation in Reading. Located along the shopping arcade street, the hotel is in walking distances to most restaurants, shops, and pubs. The single room was cozy and clean with tea and coffee amenities as well as shampoo etc... in the bathroom. The only drawback was the fact the room was a...

Is a nice looking place - it could be amazing with some investment. Staff where very good and helpful. Only criticism was it was loud. Noise from the rooms above and outside made it difficult to sleep. But the room was comfortable and large. Also has the iron attached to the trouser press so you know it's going to be...
