A group of around 10 of us stayed here during the annual Reading Regatta and the hotel was perfect for our purposes, being a stones throw away from Reading Rowing Club. This is a basic B&B. It is very clear that this hotel (which consists of a string of buildings along the road) is run purely for profit and no effort is made by the staff to provide anything more than a basic level of service. I stayed here for 3 nights while on a course at Reading University's London Road Campus. The lady on reception was lovely, and even helped me out with parking issues due to arriving back late each evening. We stayed here for the Reading Festival Weekend. In contrast to the bad review, I have nothing but positive comments to make. My family of three stayed in Caversham Hotel Lodge between 24.6.08 and 27.6.08. We got a family room facing the main road. A little of traffic noise but we slept through it without any problem. We stayed at this "hotel" in July this year and I having travelled extensively throughout the UK, I have never stayed in a worse "hotel". We made a complaint to Reading Tourist Board.
