We spent a couple of nights at the Royal Hotel whilst visiting family and friends in Sheffield. What a find! Our room was not in the main building but in one of the three purpose-built outbuildings. The room was very clean, warm and cozy with a lovely comfortable bed and a really good supply of coffee, tea etc. There was...

Had a warm welcome from the friendly owners, it's located in a peaceful location away from the City but only a £10 taxi to the City centre for a night out, great value for money cannot fault!!! Will be using again.

Stayed here one night whilst attending a friend's wedding. It's in a beautiful spot. The room we stayed in was separate to the main building - one of three single story outbuildings . It was a twin room with a shower and loo. It was very clean and had all we needed for our night's stay. There aren't any views,...

Thank you for the lovely review. The rooms may not be large but I hope I have added all you need for a luxury stay. Regarding the view I am sorry you didn't get to see any of it. You may not look straight out onto it but if you step out of the door on a good day you...

Very comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with a wide choice on the menu. Very good beer and malt whisky. Friendly owners. Couldn't ask for a better stay. We were attending a wedding nearby, but it would have been good to eat and drink more at the Royal. We'll be back to do some walking in the area.

We booked The Royal very last minute as the accommodation we were on our way to had burst pipes and we had a dog with us so had a limited choice of places to try. The landlord was lovely. No issues about it being so late and he immediately promised to keep us food incase we arrived later than they...

Glad we could be of help. We try and keep it buzzing the locals are very friendly and are used to seeing different people. I think they like it as it gives them a little variety.

Myself my husband and our friend were attending a wedding in the nearby village and were really happy to find this great place for our stay over the weekend. Very friendly landlords and a real local feel to the place. Really yummy breakfast cooked when and how you like with great views of Sheffield while you eat! We even had...

What a great find! On our way home and facing horrible traffic on every route, this planned stopover was looking like it wouldn't happen - we might make it but dinner looked unlikely!!! A phone call confirmed that someone would be around to do food and we did just squeak in before 8pm. The welcome couldn't have been warmer and...

A very warm and comfortable one night stay with a superb breakfast. Excellent real ale and food which is reasonably priced. Very friendly hosts and locals. “All rooms are quiet, comfortable, and warm. If you find a room that you prefer, just ask and Jo will ensure you are in your preferred room. * Fitness centre is the great outdoors - the Peak District national park starts on the opposite side of the road to the pub. ** The swimming pool is the Lido in Hathersage - a 15-20 minute drive for probably the most spectacular views you will ever see from a pool.”
