location was ideal and the breakfast was delicious from the friendly staff, however the room was basic and as for the shower absolutely terrible mentioned it to the man on reception who said would have a look at it whilst we were out however the following morning it was just the same would never stay here again
I've used this hotel for my business contacts many times in the past I've never had any real problems. This time through I had a major problem with my booking which I must stress was entirely my fault not the Rutland's and I must say Molly on reception was an absolute saint when it came to rectifying the problems I'd created. She was calm, efficient and extremely professional and got on with sorting it without any fuss. Poor customer service seems to be the norm in many places during these days of doom and gloom but Molly was the shining star that brightened up my day and restored my faith. Thanks Molly.
Firstly DO NOT STAY IN THIS ABSOLUTE DUMP. Placed in a room by the stairwell we literally didn’t get a wink of sleep the entire night! Constant noise, the walls are paper thin so expect to hear the people 5 doors down pass wind in the night. Stayed here because it was close to the hospital and had a major operation the next day. Is this place a hostel or a hotel? The beds are like sleeping on a P.E mat. If your thinking of spending £75 to stay here, just blend the money instead and sleep in your car, trust me it will be quieter and comfier.
Excellent location for the hospital, got parking £5 for 24hours. 20-30minute walk into the City Centre. Staff were friendly. Some modern touches but overall looking tired and dated. Bed was comfortable and room was clean plus free WiFi in the room too.
I was slightly worried about our stay after reading some bad reviews but as this hotel was booked for us because of a hospital treatment we had no choice of where to stay. It wouldn’t be my usual choice but in the end it was fine! We were in an executive double which was spacious and clean. The decor could probably do with an update and there were some signs or wear and tear but nothing to ruin a few nights stay. Bathroom was fine, shower was hot and the room had tea and coffee facilities and biscuits. Bed was comfy and it was nice to have a sofa rather than sitting on the bed. The front car park is small but the back one is much better and easy to pay for at reception. The breakfast was good both days, we chose our options the night before and it was served to our table in the morning - we also had to choose a time slot to come down for breakfast. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The only bad point to mention was the noise, the first night there was a very noisy family close by making a lot of noise late and again very early (not the hotels fault). We were also in a room at the top of the stairs so we heard everyone going past at all hours. Neither of us are light sleepers so it was fine for us.…
