Booked a night here on Travelzoo as a little treat for my husband and myself. We were not disappointed. We were given a lovely large octagonal room overlooking the garden. it was nicely appointed and furnished in shabby-chic style with a large kingsize bed and a good bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We would recommend this bnb to...

We have just had a two night stay at this B&B. Excellent place, a beautiful room though rather on the small side but with everything you would need. The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Wonderful breakfast served in a nice conservatory room overlooking the walled garden. The location is very central, few minutes walk and you...

Room was lovely - despite not getting what we booked. We booked a superior room with prosecco on arrival (a special offer through another site) but arrived to a standard double (smallish room) with no prosecco and an inflated invoice. Thankfully had copy of confirmation and the rate we booked was honoured and the prosecco followed later on - sadly...

We booked two rooms on line, one for ourselves and one for some friends. On arrival at the hotel we were met by happy pleasant staff, On realising it was our Wedding day they upgraded our room. The rooms were beautiful, clean and well serviced. On return to the hotel from our service we were greeted with a bottle of...

I was a little disapointed after reading other reviews. Our garden room was pleasant with new blind and towels but little space. The hand basin was cracked and there was nowhere to hang anything other than a small rail above the tea making tray. This tray was on the luggage rack so nowhere to put a suitcase. The only drawers...

The Hotel is well situated in the Town CENTRE of Shrewsbury, but without it's own Parking for Guests. The Common areas are very well decorated in the Darwin theme, but the Garden bedroom was disappointing, 60s style with Shower curtain, small wash basin, paper walls where we could here the neighbours. The Buffet breakfast was excellent, good quality produce but...

Exactly what we look for in accommodation. Great location, stylish decor, super fluffy towels and good breakfast. The ever smiling and welcoming Jan heads the team, all of whom could not be more helpful. PS The historic heart of Shrewsbury is a hidden gem and worthy of at least a two night stay.

Wonderful place! One night of luxury, room excellent, staff helpful, breakfast top nosh, location perfect -- Turn left and you are in town, turn right and you are on the river. Worth looking around the place as the artefacts look like they have robbed the queens gift store room. Just been renovated so all the rooms are to high spec....

First impressions of Darwin's Townhouse are exceptional. The tasteful and stylish decor throughout follows an evolutionary theme, with references to nature and geology in the framed prints, ornaments and wallpaper. Tucked away down a small side street it's location is perfect with the River Severn and Wyle Cop within a short walk. We stayed for 2 nights in Room 4,...
