While staying in Shrewsbury we used the Old Bell pub for food as it was just across the road from our b&b. Nicely decorated modern pub, friendly staff and good food. On their menu there are both normal and small portions, but have to say the small was enough for me as still plenty on my plate. Well worth a...

Stayed for two nights over the weekend. Lovely little room with lots of tea, coffee etc. All staff pleasant, helpful and friendly but a gold star must go to the lovely lady who served us breakfast (forgot to get her name). When we told her of our intention to visit the Dana Prison she went out of her way to...

A very nice pub with good food, including specials with a pint during the week, and a selection of guest ales. The staff were friendly and helpful and the standard of hygiene was excellent, and only 10 minutes walk to the centre.

Great welcoming small hotel and pub, very attentive staff, nicely laid out clean room and great range of meals on pub menu. Located slightly from town centre but this helps to make it nice and quiet. Breakfast time is later than normal but I am certain they would have provided breakfast earlier if I had asked.

Stayed here a couple of nights in a single room - which was tiny but had pretty much everything in it that you would need. The main drawback was the late starting time for breakfast on Saturdays - about half an hour after the shops open.

I have been the Bell on numerous occasions and always enjoy the atmosphere and a drink here. The food however I am always a little disappointed with, it's cheap yes I know but you still expect some flavour. Lovely pub but need to up the game on the food please.

Just an over night stay but it was very nice. Bathroom could've done with a bit of a refurb as floor wasn't great. DVD stuck in the TV's DVD player but apart from these couple of things it was very good. I didn't have breakfast as was leaving early but for £45 I thought it was good value and with...

Stayed at Abbey Court Guest House,(directly opposite) and had evening meal. The meals well cooked and substantial, "has blackboard specials" and menu available. Deserts also. Staff very obliging, however hotel gets busy some nights. Very little delay in serving meals. Inexpensive place to eat and enjoy a quiet beer and wine.
