Perfect location with a short walk to Bath centre and a private car park. Breakfast, which is included, is probably the best we've had anywhere - if you think that's an exaggeration, try it. David, the manager, and Johnny, the supervisor are efficient, friendly and helpful.

We visited the hotel over the Easter break. However despite having booked months in advance we were put in a room that was obviously only used when they were fully booked. The room was out of date and shabby - nothing like the rest of the hotel! The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, spot lights hanging out of the...

Ayrlington, Manager at The Ayrlington, responded to this review

Whilst i fully understand why a manager of a hotel gets the brunt of the guests frustration, on this occasion i feel this review is ridiculously harsh. On arrival 2 hours prior to check in time the guests arrived in a 3.5 tonne long wheel base van which is too big for our free car park, the "unhelpful manager" gave...

Very, very nice hotel in Bath that my wife and I stayed at called the Ayrlington. Within easy walking distance of all of downtown Bath and it's major attractions and shopping district and restaurants. Our room was great and was named the Zen-3. Try to get it if you can since just outside it is a beautiful garden.

We chose the Ayrlington due to easy access to the city centre and provision of parking. The hotel offers bed and breakfast facilities along with a comfortable bar. The double room on the top floor had views of the garden and the city but had yet to be refurbished so were somewhat tired. The manager explained that this was in...

1st April 2017. The venue was a 10 minute walk from Bath station. The receptionist immediately made us feel welcome even took the time to explain the area which enabled us to plan events over our 3 days. We stayed in the garden room 2 which looked on to a pleasant colourful garden with a view of the abbey in...

Had a good stay at the Ayrlington. Staff was courteous and good with directions. Room was clean and the view from the window overlooked the rugby field with the Bath Abbey as a background. There is onsite parking which was a plus since we had a car. Location is within easy walking to the town center. Overall a good experience.

Stayed here for 3 nights & were very happy with everything provided. Bath centre is relatively close and a level walk away. Staff were uniformly friendly & helpful with suggestions about what to do if needed. There was enough room for everyone to park, a important consideration in Bath & one of the reasons I originally selected this hotel over...

Perfectly situated (literally just outside the city centre). Parking provided which is essential in this city as finding a spot is like gold dust. The hotel is fantastic. Only about 16 rooms. They are a great size and very well equipped. The rear rooms have a fantastic view overlooking the recreation ground. The hotel also has a beautifully kept garden...

My wife and I together with friends that we have known for many years visited Bath for a long weekend. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel is in easy walking distance of the City's main town and major attractions. Only downsides, the hotel was having some renovation work carried out and the builders decided that an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built of golden Bath stone, The Ayrlington is a large and handsome English Heritage listed building set in a splendid walled oriental garden with exceptional views of the City and its medieval Abbey. Bath's magnificent historic sites, speciality shops and excellent restaurants are all just a five minutes level stroll away. The Ayrlington's elegant and tranquil interior is a graceful blend of English and Asian antiques, artwork, fine fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedlinen - all 18 bedrooms have an individual theme and are beautifully furnished, some with four poster beds. The emphasis is on creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the centre of Bath's vibrant city centre. The Ayrlington has a licensed residents' bar, secure on-site private parking and is entirely non smoking. We do not accept children under 5 years of age.
