Superb pub, superb food, superb staff. Chef comes up with specials most weeks, all of which are fabulous. Cask ales are backed up with a fine selection of gins, vodkas and malt whiskys. Real pub!! I don't have shares in the pub but wish I did!

It's been many years since I visited this watering hole. The atmosphere and clientele have improved considerably, since those early days. The decor suited the type of pub, nothing pretentious, just a good solid English boozer. With the growth of large family friendly pubs and their tasteless mass menus to the smaller pubs destined to close because of greedy owners...

We stayed overnight on our way through and thinking a pub might be better than a Travelodge - owner very friendly and staff were polite, food in bar was typical "pub grub" nice and good value and the breakfast was fab. The accommodation offered is VERY basic - more like a pod than a double room - the door opens...

The Inn now has a new chef and I must say that the food is very impressive. I recommend the cod fish goujons - very very tasty. This is a gem of an Inn in the Penkridge, Staffordshire area with very friendly happy staff.

After living in Penkridge for 26 years my husband decided to take me to the spittal brook for a drink and food before taking us to the theatre in Stafford. We have never been before and I for one am glad that we did. The fish and chips cooked by Val ( yes a lady chef) was the best I...

Beware when staying here as the landlord can become aggressive if your face doesn't fit. We were also retrospectively charged for damages in a room that had nothing to do with us. When we asked for our money back we were roundly rebuffed. I have never stepped foot in the place again

This review was from a stay over a year ago, whilst the pub and B&B where under DIFFERENT ownership. Whilst I agree people are entitled to retrospectively post reviews, it is simply unfair to associate this review with how the pub it is being run now. I have reported this matter to Trip Advisor and will continue to purse this...

Stayed at The Spittal Brook for two nights 24th and 25th May 2013. Very friendly atmosphere, I stayed there on my own and I was made to feel most welcome. Breakfast was very tasty and there was plenty of it! My room was clean and had everything I needed for my stay. Has recently been taken over by a family...

I was in town visiting friends and The Spittalbrook was just right. I received a very warm welcome from the landlord the pub/B&B, whilst his partner was able to recommend some great local eateries and attractions suitable for children. I stayed in a bijou room which was warm, comfortable and clean with a great shower in the en-suite bathroom -...
