We stayed after a show in the Gatehouse and were really impressed! Check in was quick and we were given the key to our room which also allowed access to the building when the reception was closed. The room was more than adequate with everything you could want! Tea/coffee, complimentary mineral water, clean comfortable bed and enough storage space! After...

Just a warning to all travellers about this hotel -or so called hotel. Was travelling to Birmingham on a special day out for my wife as it was her birthday -decided to take a stop over about half way and picked this hotel at random on Booking.com. Having been travelling for about two hours from N Wales we were about...

Thank you for your recent review We do not have anyone called carl that works at The Vine Hotel. Unfortunately our cancellation policy is 24hrs the day prior to the booking date and booking.com cancellation policy is 48hours prior so this would have been stated when booking with them. We are sorry that you feel this was not acceptable but...

We arrived at this hotel/pub and felt instantly disappointed. The whole place is very dated and needs an overhaul. The rooms especially look very tired and although they were clean, they felt grubby. We had breakfast the next morning and I can honestly say it was possibly one of the worst attempts at a cooked hotel breakfast I've ever experienced....

Thank you for your recent review Our rooms have currently this week been refurbished and the back of the bar has had a new face lift. Our breakfast is being looked at too and the chefs are currently being retrained so that we can achieve the best possible service and food around this area. I will pass on the praise...

Very disappointed with this customer experience. I was having a meal in the Bear and had two rooms booked and paid for. Got to the vine at 11.15pm and front door locked. Banged on door for twenty minutes no one answered. We had to find alternative accommodation at around midnight. Not fun. I did complain and they said they were...

Went here to day for an early lunch after the Peppa Pig Show at the Gatehouse. Nice choice of food on the menu but very surprised that there are no baby changing facilties in the place. We were told that this was because it was an old building and that we could pop to Pizza Express to use the babay...

Thank you for your recent review We are glad you like our menu choices, we are having a new menu, 25th May it goes live pop down and come and try this it has amazing new items. As the building is the oldest pub in Stafford it is very difficult to add additional space, like baby changing facilities, so we...

Wanted somewhere to eat near to Gatehouse Theatre and this was perfect. Plenty of choice of tables although quite a few had dirty glasses and plates on which could have been cleaned up quicker. Menu was standard pub fayre and was fine, nothing to rave about but nothing to complain about either.

I booked a table in the restaurant for a special occasion, I took my mum for Mother's day. We decided to have a roasted dinner off the carvery, sadly the beef was not fully cooked. We informed the waitress saying that the beef was so tuff we couldn't cut it properly and it was not nice to eat. My mum...

Stayed at the pub, really can't bring myself to call it a hotel, for five nights on business in Stafford. I guess cheapish and cheerful would be the kindest way to describe my stay. It was in fairness a very cold week but the heating in my room was . . . . . well actually it wasn't. Several requests...

Adequate for an overnight stay in Stafford. Parking free which is a bonus. Just pull up to the barrier and it opens, you need a code from staff to get out. Reasonable room, bed not the most comfortable, good sized bathroom. It is what it is, a pub with accommodation. We booked via booking.com and paid £25.00 less than the...
