Stayed for 1 night and that was enough. Room smelt damp, peeling paper on walls and ceiling, hole in the ceiling above my bed, curtains hanging off the window etc etc. Called at the bar before bed to be told there was not enough Gordon's gin for a full measure so had a whiskey but they had thrown the ice...

This hotel is directly across the road from the train station and close to the city centre and uni so is in a good location. This is probberbly the only good thing about the hotel but it's pretty much a dump but it is a budget hotel so I wasn't expecting much the room was very poky for a double...

I'm becoming more and more regular at the hotel. I've really enjoyed all my past stays and I'm looking forward to the next. I love the attitude of the staff its incredibly inviting , I think the hotel rooms are comfy and warm, There's obviously going to be need for improvements in a few places however for the price depending...

Stayed for a long weekend with large group of friends. Check in was good, got to room mine was a single with a double bed (220) the room was adequate bed needs a new mattress as springs poking through so didn't sleep very well. I had a very comfortable room and I took my dog with me. I found the staff very helpful and obliging. I cannot fault the hotel. The lunchtime menu is extremely good value for money. I have stayed at the North Staffs Hotel on several occasions and will continue to do so.

The rooms looked lovely on the website but in reality were worn and dated. The bed was positioned with a wall between it and the postage stamp sized tv. Chairs and carpet were threadbare in places and generally felt grubby. When we arrived we were told there was no food available as the kitchen had closed early as they weren't...

Stayed at the hotel for two nights whilst visiting my mum. It's a very very tired hotel , rooms a bit downbeat, but considering I only paid £44 per night not including breakfast which was £5, I suppose it's fair not to expect the Ritz Location is very handy for Stoke main line railway station and Staffordshire University The staff...

Checked in two years ago with a group of 100 dancers for a linedancing weekend. The hotels location is not what I expected, but it is the old Stoke and probably excellent in it's day. Staff were very efficient, check-in was easy considering the numbers. Meals were split in two with half the group dining in the Portmerion/Churchill suite and...
