Stained toilet in bathroom, very outdated room, very expensive for what you get. Breakfast was self service and very little left at half 8. You also need to pay for parking it is NOT free. Reception staff did not seem very happy or friendly, however waiting staff seemed a bit more cheerful.

We booked this hotel for a 2 night stay mainly because of its price, car parking facilities and location. Despite all the negative reviews made on here, I found this hotel to be lovely. Yes it may be a little dated however it all adds to the charm of it in my opinion. We booked on a room only basis...

We booked this hotel Last minute in half term as we were visiting Alton Towers. The price was good and we bought the buffet dinner for 2, did not have to pay for our daughter. Food was okay 4 courses for 7.50 so we weren't expecting fine dining. It was warm, edible and lots of it. We had a family...

Stayed over night during a recent trip to Alton Towers. As normal we enjoyed our stay and the staff were polite and helpful We were too late for an evening meal, but if the breakfast we had was anything to go by the food is still really good. The location was marked down as we couldn't find another pub or...

We booked this hotel wholly on the strength of the thoroughly dismal reviews it had received by other visitors. So it was then that we were utterly aghast, upon arrival, to discover that our room - although in need of some updating - was in no way unfit for purpose. I almost exploded with rage to witness that it provided...

The water came back on 3 hours later. the...

First impressions when arriving at 2am were very cosy lovely guy behind reception very helpful that's when we went to our room... Well cupboard under the stairs. Very tired and dated although painting work is going on inside the building at the moment it's in desperate need of a refurb. Any way an average night sleep waking up at 7.30...

To say this hotel is dated and sad is an understatement - the strap line for Best Westerns is hotels with personality, well if this hotel had a personality it would be that of an old depressed has been! They're are attempting to brighten the place up with decorating, the from the moment you walk into the dark, cluttered reception...

Went for a black tie event and stayed overnight. Meal was average, vegetable soup, chicken and frozen vegetables and then 4 tiny profiteroles. Bedroom was small and very dated. Red hot too. The TV looked like something for the 80s. Wouldn't stay again. Very tired hotel and the staff weren't very friendly either. Eye contact and a smile might be...

We will use this hotel again, purely because of location as it is a 10 min walk to Kings Hall. However, we were allocated what smelt like a smoking room and the presence of an ashtray indicated it as such. There had been an effort to freshen the room with the windows left open, but as non smokers we could...
