When I pay nearly £90 for a double room without sea view, I really expect something better that this, even arriving outside the hotel and looking at the awful signage was enough to put one off. OK the room was clean but somewhat cramped, the bathroom was clean and large, but lacked any imagination or colour and I hadn't seen...

My wife and I booked a two night stay in February. We had stayed at this hotel before but, in all honesty, we would normally stay at The Swan in Southwold at this time of the year. However, with The Swan closed for refurbishment, the prices quoted by Adnams were astronomical, whereas this hotel was a bargain on its Fab...

A lovely town, an old fashioned but delightful hotel, great weather (for March),good company, and delicious food made for a most pleasant mid week short break away. A full service breakfast arrangement. is a most unusual almost unique feature for a hotel these days, and was a very welcome return to slower more refined days, I thought were long past.,...

Great restaurant, v friendly, efficient, waiters made all the difference; and naming them! Alice, Chloe, Daniel, Donna and Shrena. Healthy, tasty, grilled breakfasts. Husband especially liked scrambled egg and generous portion of smoked salmon! Varied evening meals and lots of freshly caught fish. Following husband's stroke, we had 'the disabled room', which was so comfortable, with brilliant shower. Cleaners, Chantelle,...

Friendly attentive staff ,nice food, comfortable public rooms.Overall a very nice hotel, Nice location right on the sea front. fishermen sell their catch of the day at beach side stalls.also they smoke some of the fish on the premises, we brought some home with us really fresh. We will return again and will explore the surrounding area more .

Thank you Barry, it was a pleasure to have you stay with us and that you experienced the sanctuary that Aldeburgh has to offer. Hope to you see you very soon, even if its a quick day visit to buy more fresh fish, smoked from the smoke house Kind regards Peter

we shared an attractive room with a lovely sea view, and being rather elderly loved having the chance to have breakfast in there. The young enthusiastic staff were helpful and courteous, the food excellent, and we could not have been better looked after.I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for any age group.

Hotel staff were friendly enough BUT: 1. On arrival and for the duration of our stay there was no parking available. We had to double park and continually move our car 2. The room was small and tired, badly in need of a refresh 3. Because the hotel has grown it is very ramshackle and getting to our room was...

We stayed two nights over the weekend in this welcoming hotel with enthusiastically engaging staff. The brasserie is good for lunch and dinner with many local fish dishes and homemade foods . Prices are fair and the service good. Attractive bar area as well with a few seats in a lounge area makes for a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is...

Visited the white lion and stayed two nights found the hotel well placed and very friendly staff. Our room was small but nice and clean and also added bonus of tea and coffee facility and a big plus bottled water daily. The bar area and lounge was very nice and breakfast was excellent. In all a great place for exploring...

Booked a room overlooking the sea (worth the extra cost). All the staff were very cheery and helpful. Menu catered for all tastes and was reasonably priced. Would recommend for a quiet stay and a good base to explore this lovely part of Suffolk
