I have to say I was very disappointed with the food at The Angel on my visit today. The soup of the day was meant to be served with crusty bread, so the menu claimed.. the bread that arrived was one slice of the cheapest white bread I have ever had, clearly left out on the side to dry out...

Great Mother's Day lunch with a solid menu - simple starters followed by a range of roasts or a variety of other options for vegetarians and piscaterians! Service was efficient, but with a smile. Roasts were excellent, accompanied by a medley of vegetables. Good range of desserts but we were mostly done by then although some brave souls ventured on...

Was just passing through on business & was fortunate enough to stay here purely by chance. What a lucky choice I made. Nice clean rooms, friendly staff & excellent food, all at a reasonable price. Would like to take the missus back there one day. Thank you.

Stayed here for one night. It is in the marketplace so there is parking outside and some very, very interesting properties around. The room was a let down. Uneven floors and walls add to the charm but the decor was bland and bathroom worn out. Mirror above sink was so high I could not see anything other than the top...

We were celebrating two family birthdays and went to The Angel for Sunday lunch. Must of us had traditional roasts which were delicious, very well cooked and presented. With excellent service and a cosy atmosphere we wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Angel to our friends and family.

Arranged a spontaneous night away last night, R&R. We have never been to Lavenham and were bowled over by the history and quaintness. The hotel were very accomodating by letting us book in early, leaving us the afternoon to explore. Our room was cozy and the wonky floors added to that. The overall decor was very quirky but lovely, modern...

Lovely place to stay. Excellent location - beautiful village. We booked 2 rooms (1 & 8) and both were lovely - clean, comfortable, full of character with a wow factor and romantic! I marginally preferred room 1. Pub and restaurant atmospheric and friendly with big open fire. Good choice of wines and menu good. Big breakfast with various options. The...

Since the departure of so-called ''Celebrity Chef' Marco Pierre White The Angel is now once again somewhere one can get a good meal at a decent price. Cozy Pubs and the staff are doing a great job - well worth a visit !

Thank goodness Cozypubs now own this splendid old hotel with restaurant. They have transformed it in to a terrific place. Atmosphere is terrific with efficient friendly staff. The special lunch is two corses for £12.50. I had deep fried Camembert followed by stuffed pheasant on curly kale with creamy mashed potatoes. It was a triumph.
