Would definitely not recommend. Stayed 2 nights and slept awfully. Bed was so uncomfortable woke up every hour and at 5 i gave up getting back to sleep. On a plus the shower was powerful only benefit to the stay

Clean, bed comfortable, hot shower, towels, basic toiletries, secure, organised, bottle of water, greeted well, excellent free wifi. All in all ideal for a single traveller looking for one nights stay. Bit noisy due to being above restaurant and in town centre- would avoid on a Friday or the weekend due to that. Would use again.

1. Conveniently close to the animal health trust where my pets have been overnight so this is a reasonably priced overnight stay. 2. Very warm welcome, rooms simple but clean and have all you need for a short stay. 3. Situated above the best thai restaurant for miles. My negative comments would be the fact the kettle didnt work and i was gasping for a cuppa in the morning. Also yes beware of road noise and some noise from people on the street. Ear plugs are a good idea, however you will get this issue whenever you stay in an old property on a high street in town

What a fabulous little stay, James who is front of house goes above and beyond to make your stay the best . We were running late for the races and was unable to get a taxi and the owner Chris took us in his own car. The rooms are white clean and fresh looking . The food is amazing and breakfast also very good. It’s a hidden gem in the centre of Newmarket and great value for money 👌🏻

The room we were given was an attic room. It was cramped, basic, and smelt of cooking fat, due to the extractors for the Thai restaurant being just outside the window. The room was clean but small, in need of a refurb, and bed was uncomfortable. Noise of the revellers from a nearby pub was also still in full cry after midnight. Then about 1.00am the neighbours arrived home and, due to the thin walls and small space, it sounded like they were trying to get into our room, so, all negative points considered, we did no more than pack up and drive the 80 miles home.

We stayed here last minute, was a pleasant surprise. Lovely atmosphere, nice staff, room was immaculate with nice decor. Located right on the high street and to top it off, one of the best thai restaurants I've ever eaten in. Very very pleased indeed!

Arrived around 4pm, checked in via the bar, asked if we would be able to dine in the restaurant before we went to a wedding but we were told no as they were busy but perhaps they could try and find us a seat, at this time the whole restaurant was empty and there was loads of empty tables when we walked past during the night. Decided to not even bother and spend our money at another Thai in Newmarket. Stairs to room were very tatty, with an ice cooler stored and a fan on the landing. The room was okay, sheets clean. bathroom could do with shower regrouting. Toiletries were all mismatch and different brands and looked like they had been taken from another hotel. We were leaving to go out around 5 and all we could hear on the way down the stairs with all the private signs on the doors was people having sex! Made us feel like we were staying in a brothel. No offer of any breakfast Curtains in the room very thin so did not block any light out. Wouldn't stay again.

Was spending day nearby so checking out last minute stay - was too curious not to stay somewhere with a feature that includes ‘carpet’ ;) Stayed in front room, extra large bed and city view. Very well presented, and en suite generous sized. Is a strange mix, as previous reviews state it’s a separate entrance with individual rooms not a hotel/b&b etc.. so need to arrive at Thai restaurant and then shown up a wobbly super quirky landing in old fashioned porter style. Room looked bright and airy (can’t not like anywhere that includes ginger nuts on the tea tray!) Problems did include fan in room not working, lots of street noise, street light just outside the window (black out blind so not huge issue), and extra large double bed had slightly thin mattress issue causing sag in the middle but other than that ..... yes I’d stay again, was too cute not to like all the faults as quirks.

Recently stayed for a night when races were on so the whole town was booked. I had a small double room with Breakfast for £105, which was a bit on the steep side. Check in was easy enough in the restaurant, the room was right at the top, in the attic. Nice clean (if a little hard) bed, cramped bathroom with a rather temperamental shower, very hot though as only 1 small window in the roof and a small fan....... No parking at the hotel, car park is across the road and behind TKMax but its cheap and not far to carry bags. Location is great, right on the High St but can be a bit loud. Breakfast was excellent and the highlight of the stay, served by a very friendly guy. Overall, if I had paid £65 - £75 I think it would have been fair, seems like the prices go up for race goers.......which is a shame.

Rooms are located above the Thai street cafe. It's an interesting climb to the attic rooms, was initially shown a twin but someone was already in the room so given a double. Room was a good size but very hot I turned the radiator off but it stayed hot all the time location of b&b is great as on the high street so a bit noisy with the window open. I decided not to have a shower as it didn't seem that clean (mould and dirty corners) could do with a deep clean and vacuum although the bedding was very clean and crisp. £60 seemed expensive for the standard offered
