Absolutely disgusted with the place. We booked it 2 weeks ago and turned up on the day and it had closed down without even informing us of it. Ruined our weekend. If this hotel ever opens back up please avoid it like the plague. Wish I'd read the reviews on here first before I booked it.

I'd expect room to be clean first room I was given was a white carpet and it had brown on and the room smelled of people smoking in it , small bed apparently meant to be double for a couple , after asking for refund they said manager isn't in and they can't do it after a bit of complaining...

Good value room in a very nice building 2 miles west of Newcastle City centre. It is called "Rosedene" on some websites. Good continental breakfast with nice staff. The room I had for £21 had en-suite with towels, was clean had a double bed with TV & chair & cupbords. Great value & plenty of parking.

We stayed here as part of a hen do on 24-27 July 2015 and it was perfectly serviceable. We booked the cottage (recommended) and rooms 17 (double) and 57 (family room with four beds). Considering we paid £30pp per night, you can't expect 5 star luxury but the place was clean and the staff were helpful. I was really worried...

This place is the pits. Filthy and tatty. The curtain was 1 piece of material which was raggy and dirty. My floor cloth is cleaner!! I don't know how this place got on to any web site as a hotel. I would have preferred to sleep in a field with out a tent!!

Suffocating rooms not many windows (couldn't open ours). Not enough mirrors. RUDE STAFF! Comfy and clean beds. Two plug sockets in the whole room which sleeps 6. Breakfast was rubbish. Tried overcharging us on the deposit you have to pay. Not very close to the city centre (taxi ride away). My friends room was so much better than ours. We've...

The Bluebird Hotel is now under new management and is called Newcastle Rooms. We arrived, bracing ourselves for a dirty, unfriendly, cheap night. I loved the looks of the building in the pictures here and the location and price were perfect but the main reason I booked here was, I needed a room at the last minute and everything in...

Ive stayed at the hotel for 2 trips now and I love it for the sheer comedy factor. It's cheap as chips and not as bad as people make out. When we arrived the wee guy was sleeping on the reception desk and they kept giving people the master key. There was a big group of lads there on our...

Awful, awful experince. From the chaotic check-in ( the receptionist couldn't find the keys to some rooms, "acidentally" overchanged two people ) to the hasty departure the same day. This place is more of a " hostel / doss house " than a hotel. OK if your a student looking for a place to crash after a night on the...

I see all these reviews but what they forget to tell you is that they looked for the cheapest price and that's what they got and the hotel is situated in the roughest part of Newcastle, I have used the bluebird hotel a few times and i am going back but getting the cottage this time. Yes at weekends they...

“Try get a room rear facing for the noisy customers who like to drink outside the front of the building, I did not have to put any deposits before hand but guess it depends on the type of character you are, there are more than one toilet per floor and some rooms have en-suite.”
