Really convenient location along the quayside, parking alongside hotel which is brilliant. The hotel is clean, spacious but a little dated. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and any query dealt with efficiently with no drama. Breakfast was included with our stay, it was fine but fairly generic. Would recommend this hotel as a base it is in a quiet location and is a great hotel for a short break in Newcastle

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here with my Mam for one night as part of a deal. We were warmly welcomed by Chanelle and delighted to receive two complimentary drinks vouchers. Chanelle was so helpful and friendly and told us everything we needed to know. We were thrilled when we saw our room (415) as it had the most incredible view of the Tyne with floor to ceiling windows. It was a lovely room and very clean. The beds were really comfy. We had drinks in the bar in the evening and had a smashing time. We loved it so much we have already booked to come back in the summer! Thank you to all at the Copthorne.

Just returned from a 2 day break to Newcastle to see a concert stayed here and can honestly say the hotel and it’s staff were a treat from start to finish. The room itself was lovely with a nice view over the water. The staff were excellent and even managed to deal with our strange request ( colour of the wall in room) which will now be going on my living room wall ( muddy water ) just in case your interested. Spotless throughout, breakfast really good We would highly recommend and will be back ourselves Thanks a lot to all

We stayed in a suite (212) which offered great views over the River Tyne. The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Had breakfast both days of our stay which was buffet style and tasty. Location is perfect for visiting the quayside but a bit of a climb to get up to Central Newcastle.

Check In - This took ages. Only 2 people serving, queue of about 15-20 people. I gathered there was an issue with someone in front checking in and a manager came over, but why not move them over and let some other people check in. Rooms... a bit tired, and air con doesnt really work and very loud. My room was very warm and you can't open a window. Bathroom is more tired. But the shower is good. I and two other guests I was travelling with had issues with the room keys not working. One guy went down 3 times! On Sunday my TV cut out at 8am and woudnt come back on. Breakfast is very mediocre, over cooked bacon and simple selection, average ingreidents. They booked us taxis using their service. i went to reception to ask where they were as they were 15 minutes late, and they said well im busy so I can ask you to use the phone.... called them, told us it would be at least another 10 minutes!! The last one is a bit odd, at 2am they let a member of the group of people I was away with in to my room. He wasn't staying at the hotel!!!! I barely knew the guy, so was a bit surprised. We would have been better off in the premier inn for less that half the price. Or Roomzzz down the road!
