#3 of 89 hotels in Newcastle upon Tyne
Travellers' Choice
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal.

All staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly including those on reception and in Chez Mal bar. I have a number of varied food intolerances which make eating out a challenge. However, your server Amy was so helpful and absolutely fantastic. She listened really carefully and went back and forth to the kitchen a number of times to check with the chef and really took time to make sure that I could have a good meal. Also, the chef Sandeep altered some ingredients and made suggestions and produced an absolutely delicious meal for me. I was really delighted … it was such a change for me to have a choice and something really tasty and special.

Great location and great views, car park easy to find and use. All the staff very friendly and helpful, particularly love the Irish lady at breakfast - amazing service. Breakfast good and worth it. Decor of hotel a bit passed it now and I thought the hotel and our room was not very clean at all - dust everywhere! I did like the hotel despite this and probably will book again for the location and ease to find
