The hotel was a mixed bag. Great location and the room was nice, so too was the breakfast. However, due to the nightlife, if you are on a lower level it can be extremely noisy. Not necessarily a fault of the hotel, but something to bare in mind. It may be worth asking for a room on a higher level so you are not not distributed. The biggest disappointment, is the hotel take's a security deposit of £25 for if any damage caused during your stay which I totally understand however, I was advised it would be received in 28 days as this is how long it can take. I'm now currently on day 80 and still not received. I've sent several emails and received no assistance. It's been rather embarrassing from a customer service standpoint. If you are to stay at the hotel, you may need to accept that you are not going to receive the security deposit in return.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at this hotel. The room was of a high standard, clean tidy, perfect room temperature and facilities within the room and we were daily, asked if we needed anything. Price was acceptable for the deluxe double room that we were in. I want to give a special mention to Marcus the manager who checked us in, he was fantastic throughout our stay, any time we were going out or coming in he was genuinely interested in what we had been up to and just enjoyed having general chat with him. Really appreciated the service throughout the stay and can’t fault it at all. Would definitely come back!

The County Hotel is across the road from Newcastle Central railway station. It is very convenient for the city. I received a very warm welcome from Jake at reception and was able to provide me with a map for getting round the city and other information I needed. I was able to check in early at 2pm as my room was ready which was good of them. My room was quite a way from the lift and was very cosy. There was a problem with the hotel wifi. I am not sure if it was because it was quite a way from the main area of the hotel but my phone would connect and then drop out. In the end I was able to connect to the city wifi. I did say about it to the people at reception and was offered an alternative room. I slept very well and the next morning went to use the shower but struggled to get it hot. At best it was luke warm. Finally when I cleaned my teeth the sink in the bathroom may have had trouble flowing water as it kept spitting water over the counter. If I do stay here again I would suggest a room closer to the lift. The staff were all really nice and helpful. Let down by facilities.

Booked for one night at short notice, brilliant price in comparison to the cheap chain hotels. Check in service was brilliant and managed to get upgraded without any issues. Room was large, clean and had brilliant views, coffee machine and super comfortable bed. Bathroom was huge and a very good range of complimentary items. Perfect location, great price, fantastic service, could not fault the place at all, would highly recommend!

Stayed on a Sunday night after dropping daughter back at uni. We had booked direct via the hotel website with breakfast. Arrived to the warmest welcome ever from the manager and staff. Our room was beautifully decorated in keeping with majesty of the building. Comfortable bed, clean interior, great toiletries, real coffee!! Breakfast was buffer style except my veggie breakfast was cooked by the chef, there are also excellent choices of eggs Benedict/ royale which could also be cooked fresh. Food was of a high quality and plenty of it. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and professional and this continued with check out. My only shock is reading previous reviews. The negative ones. I think they stayed in a different hotel?? We have stayed in other hotels in Newcastle as we are regular visitors Inc some much more highly reviewed but I can honestly say the service and quality is far higher at the county and the price is exceptional value for money. We don't need to stay anywhere else now, we have found our " go to " hotel. Thankyou everybody for making our stay wonderful
