Had possibly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. Booked last minute and paid a premium rate to stay on a bank holiday Sunday for one night with my girlfriend, came all the way from Glasgow. Hotel room was okay, didn’t seem the cleanest but passable. Had a drink before we left for dinner, completely overpriced at £22 for 2 glasses of wine. Got back to hotel about 11 at night after a nice dinner to absolute chaos. People running from room to room, music blaring from different rooms - felt like we were in some sort of 18-25 youth hostel, not a decent hotel. Couldn’t sleep a wink, still people running up and down shouting along the corridor til 5 in the morning when I finally called reception. Was told someone would be up to patrol but nothing improved, was also told a note would be put on my account to discuss further in the morning. With practically no sleep we went to breakfast which was just sub par, food looked like it had been sitting and was pretty pitiful. Went to check out and wasn’t even asked how our stay was - no note of previous night on account. Asked to speak to manager and was palmed off and told we would be sent an email. Never received such an email. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want a good nights sleep or value for money.

Unfortunately I was not made aware of the problems encountered so that I could have the chance to make it right for you. The issues you pointed out are not a reflection of Hotel Indigo at all but on occasion. Like many other hotels in Newcastle and around the world, we may have the odd disturbance by guests that don't seem to understand the basics of courtesy and behaviour towards others. We do try and identify such situations but we failed with yours, I am sorry. We strive to make each stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and we appreciate that you brought your experience to our attention. If you want a naughty weekend this isn’t the hotel for you ! Wooden floors in the bedroom and the type of beds they have in this hotel are a disaster they crash off each other and make the loudest sounds , definitely couldn’t have a passionate night in this hotel. This hotel isn’t the cheapest so we were really disappointed ! Never again. !

Disappointed. Booked a balcony room as a treat for our silver wedding anniversary getaway. Check in fine , went up to the room no issues , out onto the balcony ( which is described as the finest views of Newcastle ) to be like …oh….. well not really , more like a bit of a view to the left and right but mainly a great view of the building next doors roof! No privacy at all , due to the balcony glass partitions between rooms . I didn’t really know what to expect but generally I wasn’t overly impressed and not worth the extra cost. The patio table and chairs on our balcony were rusting and mouldy and could do with replacing. Inside of the fridge was dirty. Breakfast the next day was shambolic, practically nothing left and staff obviously rushed off their feet. All issues reported to reception, they refunded the breakfast charge, but only right as we didn’t get a full breakfast. I think next time We stay in Newcastle we will try a different hotel, we were just disappointed.

It’s in a central location with an easy 10min walk to the stadium or the main shopping part of city centre It also has onsite parking ( albeit half is underground so height restricted to vans) If you get there of an evening the parking spaces are limited except to very small cars ~ they have been designed so ridiculously where there should be 2 spaces only one car can fit due to a metal column. The car park is also open to non guests as well. The restaurant was only open for pre-bookings and had a very small number of tables which was disappointing considering they advertise the restaurant so much. The hotel need to work on: Bedroom doors slam shut, which is annoying when people come and go at all hours …it’s not at all hard to adjust the doors! Wooden floors in the rooms also are a bit of an odd choice in a hotel, pray your neighbours are considerate and take their shoes off! The staff though really make this hotel worth the visit, they couldn’t do enough for me.

Came to check in for our wedding anniversary to be told we hadn’t paid for our room - despite showing confirmation and bank transactions. We left for 2hrs for some food and came back expecting them to have contacted Expedia to work out why the payment wasn’t showing - when challenged the rather officious manager told us that it was our problem to sort out. Took our bags and left, never to return again. Have stayed here many times before but the manager needs enrolling on a customer service course.

The duty manager at the time did her best to try and solve your problem but because this was a 3rd party booking it was completely out of our hands to honour without the proper backup.
