This hotel is a real pleasure to stay at. I've been many times on business trips but would also use it for personal visits. The staff are courteous, friendly and very helpful. The bar is relaxed and the food in both the bar and restaurant is very good. Great location next to the Dene for lovely walks or a leisurely...

I stayed at Jesmond Dene House with my partner for one night on a dinner, bed and breakfast package for one night in a deluxe room, and it won't be a stay simply forgotten. The hotel itself is stunning - abounded in history, and you can feel the character oozing when you walk down it's corridors. Very modernly decorated, yet...

I was so impressed by the staff and ream here. The food was beautiful and extremely well presented. The rooms spacious and very comfortable and the service excellent. This is a true hidden gem . Take time to chat to the bar team who are very knowledgeable and very helpful. The drinks are made with great skill and enthusiasm.

Old world hotel quality, in this beautiful oasis. If you're looking for traditional values of service within an gorgeous old manor house, this is the place for you. We stayed for two nights in a suite within the 'New House' building which was very quiet and of ample proportions for the two of us. As you may expect though...it comes...

Only stayed the one night but it was so relaxing. Room was very nice and, considering how hot it was, there were plenty of windows to leave ajar for some breeze. Well stocked mini bar and plenty of tea/coffee facilities. The meals we had were fantastic and the staff were excellent and knowledgeable. Could not fault and can not wait...

On this occasion we only stayed for one night but we felt so relaxed and at home. I have stayed in many luxury hotels over the years and this ranks among the very best. The quality of the furnishings, linen and interior design is terrific with many little personal touches. I really liked the artwork and sculptures too which were...

I was in Newcastle for work and stayed at the Jesmond Dene House. This hotel is exceptional. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and seem to go above and beyond at every opportunity. For example, my colleague and I arrived quite late in the evening and wanted to enjoy a nightcap in the lounge before retiring to bed. Chris,...

Went for a one night special treat to Jesmond Dene and was not disappointed, lovely hotel in well appointed grounds on outskirts of Newcastle. We only stayed for 1 night as we could only afford the time & cost for a night but it was well worth it. From the lovely welcome to the warm farewells , we felt special...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A grand house with contemporary style, a leafy setting near the heart of the city. Jesmond Dene House is neither a townhouse nor a country house hotel. It's simply 40 well-designed bedrooms and suites in a richly historic building offering understated luxury and rather good food. Overlooking the wooded valley of Jesmond Dene, the privately owned hotel guarantees peace, escapism and a refreshing change. Newcastle's city centre, however, is only a five-minute drive. The hotel recently received 4 red stars and the AA Hotel of the Year 2008-2009. ... more   less
