We came over the weekend for my friends 40th birthday. The treatments in the spa were amazing but that’s the only thing that was… the facilities were small, which wouldn’t be an issue if they hadn’t have let so many people in. There were not enough seats around the pool and changing was uncomfortable!! We weren’t given towed for the pool when we came in and had to go back out to get them. The afternoon tea was awful. Our cocktails were so sharp and sour. The sandwiches and cakes were soggy, the scones were dry and we were given whipped cream to put on them and one mini pot of jam between two of us. The lady that showed us in was lovely but the remainder of the staff were walking around sad faced and standing in corners chatting. We had to wait a long time for the food to come out and then had to fight for a cup of tea and for extra jam…. Wouldn’t recommend as it doesn’t stand up to the special occasion.

Stayed for business trip. Hotel and grounds are well maintained externally and parking is convenient. Staff in the main were friendly and helpful. Where improvement is required is standard of cleanliness in the rooms, bathroom (shower tray in particular) was mouldy and hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in some time. The extract plenum in bathroom wasn’t working which may have contributed to the mould but also this is where all the flies were coming from which filled the room and couldn’t open windows to let them out. Also had to continually ask for towels or toilet roll etc. The samples left in the room had been used by the previous guest. Room service is extortionate. Visited bar but staff were rude and not interested. Appreciate COVID19 may have had an impact on staffing levels and availability of samples. But no excuse for the flies and cleaning as COVID19 and legionella regs need to be accounted for. Feel let down by 4 star rating as expected a better service and felt this would be an easier option to stay in but ended up being more hassle.

We stayed for a couple of nights on our way somewhere and regretted not staying for longer! From check-in to checkout. every member of staff made you feel welcome. Its difficult to "only" name a few as they were all great but Fiona, who checked us in and out, and Sally in the club lounge you stood out. The hotel was light and airy, clean, fresh and not a "box room" type hotel. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice. We are trying to work out when we can return. Please keep up the excellent work.

We have stayed twice in 2 weeks and cannot fault the Hotel we had a room on the 5th floor same room both times we did request this but did not expect it as our second visit was a Queen room but was very much appreciated. The meal in the restaurant was very enjoyable on our first visit the second visit we ate out. Breakfast was busy around 9.30 but stocks replenished quickly. Bar quite busy. We have stayed At the new Melia at the quayside and would return to either
