A very welcoming night and great memories. Thankyou to such wonderful guy at reception who was only too helpful when I had to leave abruptly x I m planning a return trip soon and would love to stay here because of the whole place staff and location for a great Neet owt
Stayed here for one night and was excited as I have seen the Motel One brand across Europe and seen the good reviews, but have never had the chance to stay at one until now. It did not disappoint. I’ll be honest, the name and the price had set my expectations around mid-range, although I knew the reviews are usually very good. The first surprise was walking through the door - plush furnishings, sleek looks and trendy lights. I thought we might be in the wrong hotel. We weren’t. Checked in by a very friendly gentleman (who I also saw tending the bar later on in the evening) who was more than happy to pull out a map of the city ad suggest places for us to go to. We had booked some of the slightly larger rooms (The Special One) in the older part of the building and as it happens the room I stayed in is featured on their website. The room felt very spacious once in it - the corridor wasn’t huge and that is also where the bathroom door was, but it was no problem for me. The bathroom was shower only, but had everything you’d need to be comfortable, including a decent shower. The bed was comfortable and the curtains did their job. I didn’t use the television (why would you with Newcastle on the doorstep?!) but it was a substantial size. We didn’t have breakfast, so can’t comment on that. Everything about this hotel works and I’m excited to try another one in the chain to see how consistent they are. Highly recommended, looking forward to returning.…
Small room but was just what we needed for a 1 night stay bar hopping in Newcastle. Excellent location and room very quiet for a central location. Room was clean and Motel was generally quite impressive for the amount we paid. Never had breakfast so can’t comment on that but the bar area was nice. Had a really good feel about the place.
Superb location but room was grotty and very dusty. On check in previous guests rubbish was left in the bathroom bin. Tea and milk not topped up daily. Bathroom extractor fan and edges of carpet very dusty. Stains on the bed base. Carpet in the corridor stained. Shower was awful and the shower tray didn't appear very clean. Housekeeping needs to be improved ASAP!
