Following a two night stay for my parents to celebrate 53 years of marriage they were left gobsmacked by the lack of staff and customer service. My parents are late 70s and disabled but were told ‘after they made them pay on arrival’ they could not have a table in the restaurant for either night as they were fully booked. However, when my parents went to search for a staff member after waiting 30 minutes in the bar to be told by a waitress that they were really quiet and the chef had a ‘strop on’ which is why they hadn’t booked anyone in. Very disappointing and upsetting for parents who cannot walk far. A complaint was made when they checked out to be told the Manager would call them in the afternoon and no phone call ever came. Don’t bother going here unless you wish to pay high prices with poor service.

The world is a little different right now, and thanks to my son we were gifted a voucher to allow a booking at a hotel of our choice. Our, being my wife and I. Having never been to Stratford Upon Avon it was a great opportunity to have a cheeky overnight stay. We chose a Sunday for convenience and typically the cost of an hotel is cheaper. The hotel is centrally located and very easy to access the town. The quirky way in which you are located a room not by number, but a given name is certainly different. Once you have learnt how to pronounce the name which is typically in French we found our room. It was immaculate with all the trimmings you would expect. A huge bed, and awesome shower. What more could you want? It was clean and the room large enough to accommodate a sofa. Would have liked perhaps a coffee pod machine instead of a kettle but that's a very minor issue in an otherwise perfect set up. On this occasion we didn't use the other amenities other than a quick drink at the bar. I would suggest for £99 for the night, whilst cheaper rooms could be found elsewhere, it was worth it for the location and minor refinement that this hotel offers. There are several hotels in the chain, so all we have to do is check out the others. Well done Hotel Du Vin your setting an excellent standard.
