This recently refurbished boutique hotel is housed in a 400 year old listed building in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. Located opposite Shakespeare's school, among the ancient half-timbered buildings the town is famous for and only 2 minute's walk to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. This is THE place for a pre-theatre supper - local pianists play at 5.30pm daily and the atmosphere is great. The 12 funky en-suite bedrooms vary in size, cost and view. Try for a room at the front of the building for the perfect view. Great food is served all day, through till 10pm in this buzzy neighbourhood bistro with Afternoon Tea a particular favorite. Champagne Happy Hour is every Friday at 5pm and the bar is packed with a great, upmarket local crowd. The staff make the place and nothing is too much trouble.

This Hotel was a real find. Excellent value for money and luxury accommodation. The staff were so friendly which gave it a personal touch. Nothing was too much trouble. We are in the restaurant the first night and the food was amazing. The head chef recommended a couple of dishes and they did not disappoint. The hotel is in town so no need for a car either. Many historical sites, pubs and restaurants within easy reach Our room was large . We requested a bath and the bathroom was also a good size. All finished to a great standard. We will definitely stay here again.

The Townhouse is a delightful boutique hotel in the heart of historic Stratford-upon-Avon. I booked two rooms for my family for two nights over New Year. The rooms are well-appointed, cozy and comfortable. The bar area has an intimate feel and is the perfect place to relax with friends. We sampled both the continental breakfast (complimentary with the room) and the cooked breakfast. Both were excellent. One of the best things about the Townhouse is the service. It really is outstanding. It's friendly, personal and nothing is too much trouble. And, to top it all, the lovely historic building is ideally situated in the heart of Stratford.

We visited The Townhouse on the 25th of October 2021. Deciding on the seabass from the two-course set menu, followed by the Baileys choc pot for my wife and our friend, while I chose the cheesecake. The portions were generous and the food quite delicious. Richard our server ( more a maitre d' ) gave exceptional service along with his more than pleasant manner. We enjoyed a very pleasant evening and would certainly return.
