Reviews suggested outstanding boutique hotel however experience was standard at best with added Fawlty Towers moments. Booked direct with hotel who on arrival seemed surprised we were a family of 5 and had made no prep (ie no beds) for this eventuality. Net curtain in room ripped, bathroom dirty, one remote to share between TV in our room and that of the kids.. We booked due to breakfast advertised however there was no cooked option at all and this was never made clear at any point. We were advised that this was due to there being no chef and to be fair , given the current covid scenario , its difficult to be critical on that score. Nonetheless, the manager advised that in any case cooked brekkie would have been extra anyway. Unfortunately , they didnt seem to have prepared in advance for the continental option either. We were faced with no coffee no milk (even for the cereal) , and some bread from the local shop in its packet stuck on the side. Also for large periods there was no staff member attending so cutlery , bowls and hot water was out for a considerable time. It seems reason for this lack of attention was that the staff had gone to the shop to replenish supplies. During this period my 3 boys began to eat their napkins (they arent bloaters or anything…..they just like hotel brekkies😂) Anyway , ran everything by manager on leaving requesting a reduction in bill and was told it had already been taken - so no dice on this one. So would recommend Tripadvisors voting with their feet and looking elsewhere.

Stayed here for a family get together the rooms are of a good standard and the hotel is very clean. Staff were polite and parking on site. Breakfast could have a bit more variety found it to be very basic for a continental spread. Would stay again

Stayed here six years ago and booked again for four nights over the weekend. Sadly it isn’t as good as it used to be. Staff shortages have severely affected the standard expected. No chef, reception staffed periodically with no one on site overnight. Upon checking out there was nobody in the hotel whatsoever! Oh and WiFi…. don’t bother! Good points, clean room with comfortable bed. The super efficient Maxine who was a tremendous help when she was on reception. Really hope things improve as the hotel is in an excellent position.

Disappointed with this Hotel as it was suppose to be a luxury Hotel. It was clean and tidy. There was only one member of staff on duty on both mornings looking after reception and the kitchen . The information in the rooms need updating not least because the breakfast times were incorrect and whist the tables were set up to serve a full breakfast only a continental one was available . We had to ask for butter and orange juice. No marmalade was available although you could make your own toast. Definitely not luxury.

This could be a lovely hotel but a lot of things are overlooked, the location is very good and the cleanliness is excellent the continental breakfast is self serve but hot food is brought to your table and both these options are lovely with great choices. On the negative side the room we had was described as a suite which to be fair it was but it was very basic and weirdly set out with the bathroom and dressing table in the relaxing area and the fridge on a small table under the wall mounted tv in the bedroom? The reception area is really nice with a seating area and small bar but unfortunately all this is closed down early evening and the only way to enter the hotel is through the front door with a key code which while we were there caused major problems as on the first night someone was banging on the door and shouting “let me in” following this the police were called the next morning and the person was removed had there been a night porter this disturbance would not have happened. The second night was just as bad with someone kicking and banging on the door again. When you are on a short break and haven’t been able to holiday for two years this is not at all acceptable. If these problems were addressed this could be a great place to be based.
