Our hotel offers luxury accommodation in Stratford-upon-Avon, while crucially maintaining the charm, character and period features of the original building. The White Swan dates back to 1450, making it one of the oldest pubs in Stratford – and the front of the hotel is a cosy, traditional pub, continuing to serve outstanding cask ales and the best pub food in town. Our 41 four star guestrooms, marry traditional, original features with modern conveniences like iPod docks, flatscreen TVs and ensuite bathrooms. One thing not to miss on your visit to this historic Straford-upon-Avon pub is the antique wall painting in one of our front rooms. Commissioned by William Perrott, who owned the building in 1560, the special painting depicts the story of Tobias and the Angel - a subject doubly appropriate for a tavern of that time.

Eleven friends/couples stayed at The White Swan for three days in early October 2021. Overall we were happy with our stay, bearing in mind Covid effects and challenges in hospitality industry throughout the country. I found the staff helpful pleasant and very friendly. We dined in the private dining room once and were ably waited on with energy and enthusiasm by Thomas, with his great skills in communicating with guests. He kept us all very cheerful. Thanks also to Gabi, Sol,Charlotte,Tania and Tony. They are the sort of team you get to know. The food was often very good (eg whole plaice.) Creme brulee with figs is delicious. Some of the puddings did not score so well. They are working on that! The bedrooms are newly refurbished and very comfortable. You have to make your own bed! Not the end of the world during Covid times (and not a challenge since many of us had been nurses) but when we go next year (that is positive feedback! ) we hope the chambermaids will be back in force. The situation is excellent. Central yet quiet in the hotel itself. Staying here is a good way to enjoy this pleasant place.

Fabulous room with huge bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Easy walking distance to town and river etc. Walk out of the carpark and straight across the road. No lift that we could see in the car park so don't park on the top floors if you have lots of baggage. Mia and Lauren on reception were excellent, very friendly and helpful. But when only 1 on reception it was busy and stressful for them as some rooms not ready on time. Great find, some rooms expensive at the weekend but we did know the price. Thank you white swan, we will stay again.

Very welcoming, good breakfast, comfortable rooms and perfect location. The only negative i have is that they appeared to be short staffed at breakfast time and why no sourdough when its offered on the menu?! Just go to the local shop and buy some as most people we asking for it! On the whole, a great place and would definitely return.

We enjoyed a lovely break for a reunion of our Nursing set from Guy's Hospital. We (husbands and wives) have met very regularly over the past 56 years and visited hotels in many parts of the UK. This was certainly one of the happiest times, and we would particularly like to mention Thomas who served us for our main celebratory meal in the hotel on the middle night of our 3 night stay. He was such a pleasant person. All the staff were very commendable and not only helpful, but also very welcoming and warm.
