Looking for something to do on a spring Sunday, these gardens popped up as a recommendation on a Birmingham website. We turned up and checked at reception that we were ok to wander around outside-I think they were a bit surprised. The gardens, although not huge, are lovely with a lakes, boggy area and their own heron. We were lucky...

Be aware that this is a Quaker religious retreat. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not a business hotel. The gardens are gorgeous but my room was tiny, with an elderly single bed, and proved very spartan indeed. Breakfast was high quality, parking plentiful and the price very reasonable, staff were thoughtful and attentive; but unless I find myself re-exploring...

Visited Woodbrooke with The Compassionate Friends for a weekend retreat and the location could not have been more perfect. I lived in Birmingham for a while quite close by but never knew it was there, and being in the grounds and in the beautiful building you'd not know Birmingham city centre was only 4 miles away! I've been to conference...

I stayed here with my daughter for 1 night because she had a squash tournament at the Uni. I am already looking for another excuse to visit Birmingham to book my next stay. On arrival we were directed to the lounge area for complimentary teas, coffees and afternoon snacks. Our twin room was comfortable, warm and furnished with free Wi-Fi...

Staying here for a two day conference we were immediately impressed by the warm welcome, friendly approach and calm surroundings. The range of bedroom facilities varied from spacious family rooms to fairly small single rooms but all were clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and plentiful, with clear lists of allergens and good provision for vegetarians and vegans. All...

I stayed at Woodbrooke for one evening with my daughter. She had an interview at Birmingham medical school and Woodbrooke was ideal as it was a short 7 minute drive away. I stayed at Woodbrooke B&B twice over 2 separate weekends as I was on a course in Birmingham. It was perfect. My single bedroom was a great size with a large study desk and it was extremely quiet.
