I do not normally leave bad reviews; however, sometimes it needs doing. Our room and the public rooms were all dated and in need of refurbishment, with worn carpets and furniture. The noise in the room from outside was more than expected, due to old glazing which did little to limit the noise when we closed the window. Staff were... More

I have just attended a very good training course, held at The Copthorne Birmingham. As lunch wasn't provided, we decided to eat in the bar or restaurant. As the brasserie appeared to be a chinese(?), we settled on the bar. There was another busy conference being held that day, but the bar and brasserie were virtually empty. The three or... More

I've stayed at this hotel on business on several occasions because we get a good rate and it's less than 10 minutes walk from New Street train station. This time I noticed how tired the hotel is looking, not helped by being surrounded by major redevelopment work. Check-in was reasonably efficient. My room on the second floor was a good... More

I travel a lot on business and I've stayed at the Copthorne a few times now, and I will be staying here again. Good points Location is great. Near the canal with loads of restaurants and Symphony Hall. Rooms, yes a little threadbare but comfortable and clean with everything you need already there. You dont't have to lug an ironing... Stayed for one night 9th July 2015 whilst in town for Bette Midler concert. Supposedly given a club room. Noisiest room Ive ever stayed in, with outside machinery noise, noise from people in the street outside up to 5am. No air con in room so noisy fan. Bed was a king but obviously used by single occupant I would guess... More

We booked this hotel for a couple of nights, as we came to Birmingham to see a show. On arrival, we parked up and went in, and the entrance hall was clean and nice. The queue was long and took a while for someone else to come and help with the queue. When we were called down to check in,... More

I always use this hotel when I'm in Birmingham. The location is absolutely superb and very close to public transport, shopping and Broad Street with all the pubs and bars. The price is very fair, especially the location in the city centre taken in mind, and the hotel has a fine standard with a great breakfast buffet, clean rooms and... More

Found it very hard to find despite being just a few minutes walk from New Street Station, but once I found it I wondered how I missed it. The surrounding area is being heavily redeveloped and it does appear the hotel might just be waiting it's turn. Very friendly staff on reception, seemed amazed that the local policeman had advised... Stayed here overnight with a friend. The room was clean and very basic. It was a hot day and the room was extremely hot as there was no air con. Receptionist was not particularly helpful when checking in and in and not very forthcoming when asked for any information. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. I would only stay... More

I stayed here whilst on a training course in the city. The outside seemed a little tired but thought I'd give it a try as it was next door to my training centre. The inside is clean and well presented and I joined an ever-increasing queue of people checking in. The poor woman on reception was trying to book people... More
