So this hotel looks impressive enough from the outside and the reception area. However the reason why it's not very good is it struck us as style over substance. The overall check in was okay but if you have just walked in to such an impresssive area you would think the staff would pick that up to deliver the whole...

Room was upgraded which was a lovely surprise as we were celebrating a special birthday. The room was large, with great decor - lovely wallpaper, bed was huge, comfortable with crisp white sheets. Bathroom was well supplied, lovely rainfall shower, and sep bath - all very tasteful and well thought out. We ate at the restaurant in the evening and...

We stopped here for my husbands birthday in Feb and I can honestly say it was brilliant from the staff to the room was amazing! We usually book the mal Maison but this was full and they informed us of their sister hotel the hotel du vin they informed us they only had suits available so we went ahead and...

Stopped here for an overnight stay and cannot really fault anything. Room was large, well decorated and comfortable. Eggs benedict for breakfast were cooked to perfection with other options available. My only complaint was that the pillows were too soft but the bed itself was enormous! The added benefit is the architecture of the building; it is simply stunning. Worth...

Spent a few nights here on business and loved everything about it. My room - Beringer, was a great size with a large desk at which to work in the evenings, my own Nespresso machine, a huge bath/shower room plus plenty of wardrobe space for my suits etc. Lots of other nice bits and pieces - good range of teas,...

I can only review The Bubble Lounge as my wife and I with friends visited it on Good Friday afternoon for a bottle of Champagne and a glass of Malbec and we all had a very enjoyable afternoon. The staff throughout were attentive and friendly and we always like the ambience of the lounge/bar.

Friendly receptionists, happy bar staff, very edible breakfast, spacious bedroom. Typical decor of the Hotel chain - so you know what you are getting - it suited the building which was an eye hospital in the past. Near to the train station so easy journey to the NEC. Poor WIFI reception. Chambermaid did not replenish water or milk. A little...

Whenever I'm in Birmingham during the last couple of years, I choose Hotel du Vin, because of the nice atmosphere of the rooms, the bar, and the restaurant. It is an old building, stairs and floors are sometime creaking. But it has been renovated with a great atmopshere. Some people might say, that it's somewhat dark everywhere, but I don't...

Fantastic city center location, perfect for shopping, restaurants and bars. Beautiful foyer. Quick check in with super friendly staff. We were in a deluxe double room and it was great, really spacious with a big comfy bed. The bathroom is huge with a roll top bath and huge walk in shower with rainfall shower-head. Everywhere was very clean, the room...

This was our second stay despite a not entirely successful first stay. Front of house welcome was excellent, we were going to use the valet parking but as luck would have it our keys were returned as I had parked in one of the hotel parking bays without realising. We like the bar, the service is good, wife wanted a...
