I can only review The Bubble Lounge as my wife and I with friends visited it on Good Friday afternoon for a bottle of Champagne and a glass of Malbec and we all had a very enjoyable afternoon. The staff throughout were attentive and friendly and we always like the ambience of the lounge/bar.

Friendly receptionists, happy bar staff, very edible breakfast, spacious bedroom. Typical decor of the Hotel chain - so you know what you are getting - it suited the building which was an eye hospital in the past. Near to the train station so easy journey to the NEC. Poor WIFI reception. Chambermaid did not replenish water or milk. A little...

Whenever I'm in Birmingham during the last couple of years, I choose Hotel du Vin, because of the nice atmosphere of the rooms, the bar, and the restaurant. It is an old building, stairs and floors are sometime creaking. But it has been renovated with a great atmopshere. Some people might say, that it's somewhat dark everywhere, but I don't...

Fantastic city center location, perfect for shopping, restaurants and bars. Beautiful foyer. Quick check in with super friendly staff. We were in a deluxe double room and it was great, really spacious with a big comfy bed. The bathroom is huge with a roll top bath and huge walk in shower with rainfall shower-head. Everywhere was very clean, the room...

This was our second stay despite a not entirely successful first stay. Front of house welcome was excellent, we were going to use the valet parking but as luck would have it our keys were returned as I had parked in one of the hotel parking bays without realising. We like the bar, the service is good, wife wanted a...

I had Afternoon Tea here with my sister in law and absolutely loved it! Our waiter Quinton was fantastic, friendly and made sure we wanted for nothing. His service was the highlight of the whole experience. The tea and cakes were fab, so many choices to choose from. Would definitely recommend and come again.

We recently met up with some friends at the Hotel Du Vin for a late meal. Our friends happened to be passing through Birmingham and I've yet to speak to them about their stay. I personally find the Hotel to be a visual treat and judging from the clientelle it is also considered to be a fashion glamour spot. It...

Ambience, architecture, style all top marks a lovely place. But the food... I was out with work for evening dinner and had to pre-order as there was a few of us. I opted for the canard (duck) so imagine my surprise when I was served two sausages on some kale. Not quite what I or others who ordered the duck...

One night only at this hotel. Room was cold when we arrived, so most uncomfortable to get changed, although when we complained two heaters were sent to our room. The room was very dark and not very welcoming, but the bed was comfy. This hotel certainly needs some TLC in the bedrooms, old fashioned and tatty looking.

Recently stated just one night on the Sunday night deal which offers great value for money. Have stayed several times before and, as in the title, it has its flaws but it's character and warmth mean I have a real soft spot for HdV. Check in was friendly and efficient. Our room was lovely; not huge but well appointed. Big...
