We stayed for a three night break with national holidays on the 20th November. The stay at this hotel was the worst we have ever experienced. We had to change rooms three times for various reasons, the worst being two 3inch peices of steel wire sticking out at the bottom of mattrass which nearly gashed my feet..The food was also shocking. The 1960's... Room 422 vintage mattress complete with exposed springs quite painful if you are over 6 foot. Evening meal carvery offered fair choices although geared to coach trippers. Consequently when its gone its gone. Package included bottle of wine surprisingly quite acceptable. Breakfast buffet not appetising yoghurt? Fruit ie. Tinned grapefruit and mandarin flecks? But massive of sultans! One boiler for... More

It may be tired and in need of a face-lift, but it's not the worst place to stay in the world. It's ideal for people who are working away from home. It has plenty of parking which is a bonus. Bar food is ok. Wouldn't recommend it for a romantic getaway though.

This hotel is in dire need of a makeover!. On arrival I was told that I was lucky to have an upgrade to a double room ,I would hate to see what the original room was like .The staff were generally ok and my advice would be get a job some where else. The decor is worn out and dated... More

As with several of the Britannia group of hotels this is yet another establishment which needs fairly major refurbishment & attention to decor! Basic amenities & fairly average rooms provide an adequate overnight stay for the price!

Very tired hotel with no redeeming features, asked to change rooms as I could feel the springs in the mattress, only six tv channels and the shower was like warm!!! Changed rooms without a fuss, hot shower, mattress not much better and one extra channel, but this time I gained threadbare carpet, AND it was screwed down!?! Never seen that... More

Admit to not reading reviews but had stayed here many years ago and do not recall any horror. Sadly all previous negative reviews are correct. On the positive there was plenty of storage in the room and a flat screen tv plus the bathroom appeared to have had an overhaul. The 'bed' however was as comfortable as a plank and... More

I read some bad reviews about this hotel, turns out most were fairly accurate. The place is tired & outdated but the rooms were clean & the staff were friendly. I wouldn't book the evening meal as it's not the best & there's a carvary pub a couple of miles away. The taxi transfer to the airport was a bit... More

Stayed here the night before flying from Birmingham airport. Paid £55 for a double room. It was clean and functional. Could do with abit of a make over though as very tired and out of date decor. The car park was very busy and when we checked in the receptionist was telling another guest that there had been a few... More

Well, where do I start! We were staying for one night and had booked a three bedded room for myself and two children, initially upon entering our room we were hit with a discussing smell of stale urine, the room itself was in need of a thorough deep clean, one of the beds was a camp bed that had slats...
