i have been staying at the crouchers for one night every week for about 3 months. All of the rooms are different and have their own unique character. Always a pleasure to get to the room at the end of a busy day. The beds are comfy and the en-suite shower rooms are excellent. To say the rooms are always...

We stayed here on the Sunday night of the bank holiday which was lovely as we were the only residents so had the place completely to ourselves. We had room 6 a garden room with lovely view and open terrace. The room itself was functional, comfortable, however it was compact and lacks a real sense of style. The bed was...

Booked a last minute 2 day midweek break on recommendation. Very impressed. Peaceful location, beautiful decor, staff friendly, helpful but unobtrusive. Spotless bedrooms with doors opening on to private patio area with table and chairs overlooking woodland. Very comfortable nights sleep. We had all our meals here. Very high standard of food, beautifully prepared and presented, both dinner and breakfast...

The hotel was absolutely perfect for our trip. The room had opening french doors to a small garden area which opened onto fields. Quite magical. The room was lovely, clean and very quiet. Food in the restaurant was also great - especially the French toast!

Room was ok - bit dated and didn't smell that fresh - few spiders webs knocking around. I didn't eat there at night but breakfast was average - bacon & sausage - pale and just about cooked. Toast through one of those ridiculous DIY machines that don't toast, butter on the verge of being off. Bit uninspiring. On the bright...

We had a great dinner and stay over at Crouchers. The breakfast was lovely too. The staff were most helpful and very kind. We had to move rooms due to the stairs which I could not manage and we were moved with no fuss at all. All the food was delicious and very well prepared.

Excellent help from reception to find rooms with suitable shower facilities. Had requested shower not bath but these were not available as one of our party was unsteady climbing in to a deep bath. Surprised o find menu on Sunday night had not changed from Saturday. Had to chose from a la carte instead

Dear 66michelle Thank you for your review and feedback on TripAdvisor. We are increasingly aware that most guests prefer a shower for access or convenience purposes. I was pleased to read we were able arrange suitable shower facilities. Our menus don't generally change daily but we do add Sunday roast to the dinner menu. Kind Regards Lloyd vR

We booked the room for the Saturday night only. Unfortunately we hadn't realised that the restaurant would be full so had to make alternate arrangements for dinner. We booked a comfy luxe room but it was very small. I am not sure if it is only this particular room (No:19) but my 6 foot tall husband ended up bumping his...

It was our anniversary this weekend and by chance we came upon a DBB offer. We are local so this suited us. A fairly modern hotel but tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful even before we arrived as we did make an error with our booking but the receptionist was most helpful. The room was comfortable and clean...

This is a very tricky review to leave as I have mixed opinions of Crouchers. My summary is based on the fact that it isn't a cheap place to stay, and that it prides itself on having luxury rooms and atmosphere. We were a party of three ranging from our 80s to late 20s. Let's start with the positives: Rooms...
