Have just spent a night here, our first visit to the hotel. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. A beautiful ( maybe a little tired in places) Victorian hotel. Extremely spacious and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and helpful.my friend and I spent a most enjoyable afternoon in the lounge bar, by the real fire with... More

Stayed here for one night as my partner was graduating at Bradford University so drove up on the day, and although hours early for our room to check in, the staff sorted it out and let us use our room to change for the graduation ceremony. The staff, venue, rooms and general class of this place made our stay very... More

Room was spotless. Decor lovely. This hotel is an old "railway" hotel it has real character and beautifully maintained. Every member of the staff we had contact with was more than happy to help, nothing is too much trouble. In my view this hotel is the best in the city centre. Have a walk down the passage that leads to the... More

A very friendly welcome who chatted to us about our reasons for us staying at the hotel. We were informed about the services ie the bars and restaurant and relevant times. The room was very nice, very clean, and most importantly on a very cold night, lovely and warm. Nice big tv in the room and good selection of tea... More

Large, city centre hotel with an opulent heritage and modern vibe. Our superior room was large and well decorated with a swish bath/shower room tiled in black. a large and comfortable bed helped us with a good peaceful night's sleep. The reception was friendly and efficient, the breakfast smartly served and with plenty of options. There is onsite parking though... More

We recently had lunch at the Midland Hotel. What a charming and pleasant experience. A lovely roaring fire on a cold day was much appreciated and helped to make the atmosphere welcoming and cosy. We both had jacket potatoes, one with tuna and one with cheese. These were accompanied by a beautifully presented salad. Delicious. Philip could not do enough... More

Great service from Philip and a lovely afternoon tea in nice surroundings. Good selection of sandwiches and cakes and we were given a top-up of tea. Pleasant place to relax on a rainy afternoon and we would be happy to return.

Originally a railway hotel in days gone by it looks to have been wonderfully preserved and exudes a lovely feel from the minute you walk inside. Entry from the car park is through the old passageway that would have once connected to the train station platform, it is all preserved exactly as it would have been in the day and... More

This is an old fashioned hotel but in a really good way. It has an interesting history and you get the olde world feel of vintage Britain. Huge staircase, regal portraits hanging on the walls, stunning ceilings and cornices. The room I was in has been modernised with every utility such as a trouser press. I was only there one... More
