I went along with my wife for the 40s weekend to The Old White Lion it`s a great event and it was made even better to be staying in this hotel, you are made to feel welcome in very clean comfortable rooms in a good location at the top of the cobbled street. There is a lovely bar doing big...

Had a shockingly rude member of staff on the Saturday of the 40s weekend she criticised me for clearing the table we were sat at of dirty glasses. Possibly she was the owner as she was middle aged with glasses and the waitresses were young girls which was maybe why she felt she could speak to us the way she...

Waited 45 mins for 2 bowls of soup...ridiculous! I know they were busy but they should have had more staff on. Dirty pots were not cleared away. Several customers walked in and then walked out after 10 mins. Customers who ordered food after us got their food first even though they were having bigger meals. We were only waiting for...

Three of us stayed for three nights and we could not fault the staff, the accommodation the location or anything about our stay. The food is excellent. The best bacon we have ever had for breakfast. The steak is delicious. Really recommend The hotel. Have stayed twice and looking forward to my next trip. So close to the Parsonage too.

From our arrival early on Friday morning to our sad departure Sunday evening we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There was a problem with our twin room booking on arrival and it was swiftly fixed and we were offered a choice of bedroom and were very happy with our choice. This was a lovely touch. The rooms are clean, warm and...

Not the first time in Haworth, we usually try to book the Fleece, but as its so popular we couldn't get in. So we tried the Old White Lion. Well I'm glad we did, from the outside it looked small but when you walk through the door it's really quite big. As soon as you enter you sense the calm...

Situated in the centre of Hawes a great place to stay to visit surrounding areas. We stayed here for three nights in order to visit Hawes .Saltaire and Bradford. We used the excellent transport links and left our car on the hotel car park. Very welcoming staff a comfortable room although a little noisy as we were over the bar....

We ate in this pub 2 nights, and we (4) had different meals each, each night, and they were cooked to perfection. If we had stayed longer, we would have eaten in there again. Thank you to a great chef.

We had an enjoyable time at The Old White Lion, it was a good pub, good atmosphere, well kept beer and food was tasty. We ate in the bar but there is a restaurant as well. The service was friendly and efficient.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 300 year old facade of this former coaching inn hides the fact this family run hotel combines charming olde world features with thoroughly modern facilities. Situated at the top of the famous cobbled street, walked by the Revd. Patrick Bronte and his famous family. In more recent times as illustrated on TV in Hovis advertisements. This is very much an establishment where food and drink are taken seriously, and dispensed along with hospitality in good measure. Warmth, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere prevail throughout the 14 en-suite bedrooms, beamed bars, restaurant and oak paneled lounge.Freshly prepared food is provided by the highly qualified chefs. Keeping up with modern trends, without ignoring the popularity of old favourites. Featured in major food guides the Gimmerton restaurant is open every evening. An extensive range of reasonably priced bar meals being available in the cosy bars, where real ales are prominent. Exceptional value breaks available both mid-week as well as weekends throughout the year. ... more   less
