Welcomed after a long walk with friendly staff, shown to our twin room (7). Nice sized room very warm with bath and powerful shower. Lovely jar of chocolates to eat which suited me and a nice cup of tea. After a shower which was very strong just what is needed when you feel disgusting after walking all day, however water...

Walking in to the Fleece Inn is like being in any of those movies about small English towns. Low wooden ceiling beams, stone fireplace, dark wooden bar and walls. The rooms are upstairs. The bed was super soft, and the bathroom modern and clean. We had an old fashioned wood wardrobe and a button back leather couch. The entire feeling...

We were forced to visit the town as part of a coach trip itinerary, but it was a surprising delight. However, the further you went from the car park the bigger the climb on the way back. There are dozens of restaurants and pubs on the main thoroughfare, but the Fleece looked inviting from the outside and only partway down...

Top class place with good food and excellent ale. Friendly, helpful staff. One problem is the lack of parking but on speaking with the staff was quickly directed to the best places to park. Would recommend. Will defiantly be back

After reading reviews we decided to visit today for lunch. Upon entering, it was quite welcoming with a lovely open fire, unfortunately the bar man looked like he didn't want to be there, and they had no lager in draught, despite there being three varieties advertised......we left and had a fab lunch up the hill.
