After some initial confusion over the room booking which was sorted out quickly and efficiently we found the rooms comfortable, clean, tidy and quiet. The children had a shared room opposite which was very convenient. Breakfast was good quality with the staff being friendly and helpful. We only had one night here as we were passing through but it's a...

Southport to Scarborough and we stopped here en route. Very good caring staff and well set out rooms. Very clean and the towels were the best to use after a shower. One comment. We were in room 4 and the hairdryer is on one wall and the mirror on another. I am sure a small mirror could be put on...

Thank you for your comments we were pleased to hear you had a pleasant but brief stay, I believe the mirror in that room had fallen off the dressing table & smashed and we were in the process of sourcing a replacement. If you happen to be passing this way again we hope we may be of service again.

My wife and I had three nights at The Dalesgate. We used it as a base to do a "mini" tour of the Dales. It was an excellent base for this purpose, with easy road connections into The Yorkshire Dales. The staff were friendly, helpful, informal (in a good way) and professional. The rooms were clean and tidy (except for the...

We stayed here with another couple whilst attending bronte vintage gathering. We were delighted with our rooms which were spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable beds. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our breakfasts were really good and couldn't fault in any way. What a bargain - we didn't expect this quality for the price we paid.

I booked for one night on route to visit family. Booked for myself and my dog. Due to change of plans, actually arrived with my daughter and no dog. The hotel kindly changed my room from a double to a twin (thought I had managed to change it online but it hadn't come tthrough) and were very helpful despite the...

We booked the hotel for 21 people to enjoy a Masonic Social week end, we were greeted with a smile and the rooms were excellent. The owners were excellent in helping set up the week end, including arranging a 5 course meal for us. The service and food were of a high standard and could not be faulted. I would...

We rang some friends who were also staying here in advance of our arrival and they were already here, they told us it had a "Fawlty Towers" feel to it, when we got there we didn't realise it was actually a themed hotel. When we opened the front door to the place we were greeted by the ancient memory of...

Stayed here on Valentine's night, just a cheap getaway for me and my Parner. We checked in smoothly and the room was lovely. Spotlessly clean with a nice view and comfortable bed. We headed off to the pub a few doors away for the rest of the evening. Breakfast was fine. No black pudding served was a little disappointing. Also...

stayed here on the Friday night. Bed was fantastic, really comfy and had a great nights sleep. Room was clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good as well, fairly good selection. Only 20 minute walk to the town centre as well or £3.50 in a cab. Really good value for money
