This is a great place to have a few pints. Staff were friend and service quick. The building that the pub is in is clearly old... low ceilings, narrow doorways. It was a bit chilly during my visit to Salisbury and there was a nice fire roaring. Very cozy pub to grab a few pints!

Dropped in to Salisbury on the way back from Stonehenge and as it was after half past one, we decided to eat. Without checking Tripadvisor we asked the man in the office of the multi storey car park who suggested the New Inn. Great recommendation. Three lunchtime specials of the chicken and bacon pie, cauliflower cheese and dauphinois potatoes, all... More

Found this after walking along the river. WOW covers everything from great service, welcoming staff, great ale and a top quality food offering. THEN you head out in to the garden, view of the Cathedral and great setting for a relaxing meal. Even better was when the sun went down, lots of little lights and a fire pit lit. So... More

The New Inn comes recommended. It's a lovely pub with lovely garden and really nice to sit out in the sun for an afternoon pint or two. On the evening they put the fire pit on outside which is perfect. I haven't eaten there yet but everyone tells me the food is lovely and looks amazing and the menu nice... More

Went here for a late lunch as we have been here before. They have since changed the seating area in the garden, it was nice before but is it even nicer now, with nice atmosphere. Nice view of the church tower with lots of plants that seem to attract butterflies ( never seen so many ). Food was very good... More

we visited the restaurant for an evening meal. it lacked presentation and the food was not substantive. the price of the meal, you could have fitted on a tea plate. we complained but there was no consideration at all for the customer. we were told to use the usual procedure for complaints but there was no information regarding this.

My wife and I have stopped here twice in the last year while on holiday from the States. Both times, food has been way above average at affordable pricing, atmosphere amazing, and staff incredibly cordial. The new chef has made some great changes and added some diversity. He is approachable and humble. Beer selection is strong, and the 15th century... More

Here for Sunday lunch & could not have asked for better - we were inside but I recommend explaining where your table is if you prefer to sit outside because the garden is a good size & you do not want your food to be cold on arrival. Very good range of food available, freshly cooked & served by friendly... More

This is generally a lovely pub, great choice of drinks and there is a quiet and pretty garden at the back. The food is also normally good. Unfortunately, my experience today was not the best. We ordered a children's burger (which was supposed to be a smaller version of the main) and smoked salmon fish cakes plus drinks. The meals... More
