We wanted a romantic meal in the restaurant. What we ended up with was a catalogue of disasters. Food taken to the bar not the restaurant; two bottles of incorrect wine; the wine we chose never appeared - 45 minutes after the order they declared they'd run out of it; the food was satisfactory at best and the hake kedgeree...

We really enjoyed every aspect of our stay here. We had high expectations from the good reviews, but the facilities and service still came as pleasant surprise. It is quite remote, so don't expect to walk into the local village, but there did seem to be some nice walks around. But we were content staying in the hotel! What we...

Had lunch in the Potting Shed, 4 very happy diners. This is the casual side of Dormy House but was excellent, the food is superb, setting lovely. Can not wait to return and try the main restaurant, highly recommended.

I arrived at the Dormy House Hotel on Friday for a friend's 50th birthday treat, feeling stressed and frazzled from work. I have arrived home after my weekend there feeling refreshed and relaxed. Our group of four had a wonderfully indulgent stay and were made to feel welcome as soon as we got out of the car. The ambience throughout...

From the moment we drove up to the Hotel where we were greeted by the porter by name to the end, we were looked after magnificently by a delightful and well trained staff. The public rooms were comfortable and relaxing and the bedroom thoughtfully appointed . The food in the Garden Room we thought exceptional and we thoroughly recommend this...

We couldn't have had a better stay at this fantastic hotel. It met all our expectations and was a luxurious, romantic and indulgent venue for my husband's 40th birthday. The hotel is immaculate and has several lovely sitting areas with cosy fires to relax besides. The staff are helpful and attentive in the spa and hotel. We upgraded to a...

Very impressed with food. Used to being underwhelmed by vegetarian options but these were excellent, including the breakfast. Beautiful hotel if a bit beyond my usual budget. Excellent friendly staff, with good attention to detail.

My partner treated me to a nights stay after a stressful exam period. Staff were very attentive and met us in the carpark and took our luggage. The receptionist was very welcoming, drinks on arrival. Bedroom was just wonderful- very cosy! Unfortunately treatments were all booked up, but the spa itself was very relaxing with a wonderful outdoor hot tub....
