Aberystwyth is an interesting mixture of faded seaside resort and university town. There are students everywhere, and one of their favourite watering holes is the bar of the Glengower Hotel, in Victoria Terrace, right on the sea-front. If you enjoy good beer, don't object to a bit of youthful exuberance and aren't too fussed about the smartness of the accommodation,...

I booked 2 twin rooms for a 1 night stay. However I was informed on arrival that we only had 1 twin room for 2 nights. I had a booking.com confirmation email. The manager apologised for the mix up and found another room in a nearby hotel, for which he paid for. Not sure who caused the mix up Booking.com...

From the moment we arrived at the glengower hotel we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was a Seaview room, which I would recommend and the bathroom had been recently refurbished so that was lovely too. Bathrooms can get tired looking in hotels. We slept peacefully and heard nothing from any other rooms or from the bar. The breakfast was...

3 of us went for a meal and as a vegan asked very nicely if the goats cheese salad could be changed for sun dried tomatoes a very abrupt ' sorry we don't change anything on the menu ' even after explaining it was still a no . Asked if we could have a portion of mushrooms as a side...

This is the place to eat and stay when in Aberystwyth. Its on the promenade so expect good sea views. The rooms are big, good wi-fi and a fantastic breakfast. The staff, especially Dan was very helpful and friendly. I cant fault them and will recommend this hotel.

Just back from my second break at the Glengower in Aberystwyth. Lovely break and the weather was amazing too. Lovely location, lovely people, great bar and restaurant, what more do you need? Planning to return in again in October. Thanks to all concerned.

This place is a gem at the end of the Promenade with a tender p selection of real ales and ciders. A very good casual vibe, helped by being dog friendly. We had the chips and cakes them to be cooled longer. We were somewhat disappointed with what we'll got. Great service and recommend.

We visited Aberystwyth on a wet & windy Sunday in February & due to the weather looked for somewhere dog friendly to eat, this place had been recommended by the staff of our Hotel, we were surprised to find it very busy, but nonetheless found a table & enjoyed some very good food served with a smile & reasonably quickly....

Great real ales and ciders plus knowledge to go with it. The food is top as well, we eat here maybe up to 3 times a month. (Make sure to check the specials board) The staff are all lovely and atmosphere is great. 10/10

I'll keep this short. Very disappointed in the Sunday lunch. Frozen mixed veg, watery and greasy gravy. Mashed potato tasted like that pre made packet stuff that you buy from the chilled section in the supermarket. 2 small roast potatoes (which were actually really nice) and a burnt, chewy and very stale tasting Yorkshire pudding. Don't go here of you...
