We arrived here after a long drive through Wales. Our check in was smooth and friendly and our room was clean and comfortable. That said, we overlooked a small outdoor area between the accommodation and bar. This was heavily populated with smokers and there was quite a strong smell of smoke in our room as a result. It also meant...

Clwb Gwawr Y Fenni is part of the Merched Y Wawr movement which is similar to the Women's Institute but all proceedings are conducted through the Welsh language. Twelve of us met here on a miserable wet and windy night in March for for monthly get-together. We couldn't have been more delighted with the welcome, the food and the ambiance....

Stayed at the Kings Arms on a Saturday night. All staff were very attentive and the room clean and comfortable. The hotel itself is old and quirky with its uneven floors and walls. Breakfast was very good. Would recommend this hotel for a stopover.

Right in the middle of Abergavenny Town centre . A hotel and restaurant with character . Lovely food and served at a reasonably quick pace . Great Ales and Ciders too . Try the Devonshire Dressed Crab . Great vegetarian food too . Had the vegetable gateaux and the lovely Leek and potato soup . Very good hearted and genuine...

What a charming hotel with staff who aim to please their guests. The rear of the inn is turned into an undercover annex where they display sporting matches to an enthusiastic crowd, there's also a bar there where refreshments can be purchased. The young lady manager I spoke to asking if the historical place was haunted was very respectful saying...

We were looking for a restaurant which would provide something special for our vegetarian relative. The website published a promising looking menu. This was our first visit to the Kings Arms. We were unprepared for such a super experience. The whipped goat cheese main course was a fabulous success. I was completely bowled over by the dressed crab. It was...

We had a roast dinner here a few weeks ago which was fantastic, however we also ate here recently at lunch time on a Saturday which wasn't great! The quality of the food was good but everyone's food was over cooked, and essentially ruined! I prefer to eat rare meat and mine was medium to well, those who ordered medium...

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable, the included breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Even though the check-out is at a generous 11am, we were allowed to stay until 11:30 with no issues, and appreciated the flexibility.

A homely pub and restaurant with a good Sunday lunch menu. Diverse options (inc vegetarian). Good choice of beers. Friendly and helpful staff. Desserts looked fab (but neither of us had room to find out!)

This is an old building dating back to Tudor times. Stayed in room 10 which is up some old rickety stairs and needed to watch out for some lovely low beams. Ate in the hotel both nights and the food was very tasty and well presented. The young staff are attentive, helpful and friendly and the breakfast sea also top...
