Last weekend we stayed in The Guest House, Abergavenny for the sixth year in succession. And why do we go back each year ? We are eight golfers who play a long weekend of four rounds in the area around Abergavenny and have been doing this for 20 years. We have tried a variety of local places to stay, but... More

I stayed here for one night and was really impressed. Beautiful, comfortable room,(Punch Bowl) TV, wi-fi; welcoming and friendly host and a delicious breakfast to top it off. I recommend this without reservation, a special bonus are the delightful birds and friendly cat! I would definitely return if the opportunity presents.

Stayed here with friend in June on a bike trip to the area - host was very friendly and helpful, the b&b/room was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really tasty and there was plenty of it. Secure parking for motorbike. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We enjoyed a very comfortable two nights at the guesthouse. Kevin was very welcoming and our room had all we needed. It's a short walk into town and finding somewhere to park on the quiet road outside was no trouble. Would happily return again in future.

WE stayed in the 'Skirrid' room on the first floor and we loved it.The room was roomy, clean, and pleasantly decorated. Kevin was a very kind host. There are chickens, birds, dogs, and cats in the yard, and the pleasant sounds of nature created a peaceful background for this restful place. Breakfast was delicious and generous. It was a 15... If you're looking for sterile faceless corporate then go look elsewhere because this is an oasis of peace, calm and family values. Welcomed by a Tabby Cat, a garden menagerie, lovely owners, clean and comfortable rooms and faultless breakfast. One word of warning, no plastic payments yet, but coming soon. Parking is on street but it's a quiet road. If... More

having stayed at this guest house on numerous occasions previously, I recommended it to some friends from abroad who were visiting Wales for the first time. Irrespective of my recommendations they took it upon themselves to read past reviews regarding The GUEST HOUSE, and were somewhat concerned by the mention of cigarette smoke. I reassured them in all the times... More

We enjoyed pleasant and comfortable stay in a room above the breakfast room at the front of the property. It was clean and friendly with plenty to choose from at breakfast and a reasonable stroll into the town to find an evening meal.

I agree with other reviewers about the mysterious smoke smell, which was sometimes mixed with airfreshener smell as if to cover it up. I think two large parrots with with feathers and droppings in their cages in the dining room was a strange idea. The communal areas were dowdy. The room was cleanish but the bathroom was ropey, especially the... More

The Guest House is ideally located for walking into the town center. The room was small but adequate. Cleanliness was adequate. The host and his helper were very friendly, spending time visiting with us and answering questions. The breakfasts were made to order every morning and were tasty. The porridge was especially delicious. The dining room smelled of cigarette smoke,... More
