While traveling in the U.K., we spent one night at the Sychnant Pass Country House and stayed in the Blaenwern room. We were very happy that we found this hotel and would love to stay here some time again when we visit Wales. Hugh was an exceptional host and we really enjoyed having dinner there that night. The food was...

Stayed here last Saturday for one night lovely place the owner Hugh is fantastic BUT the food is very over priced I paid £8 for Tomato Soup and then £27 for a RUMP?! Steak with chips and onion rings, all the main courses are £27 or it's £40 for 3 courses def not worth eating here. Other than that spot...

Many thanks for taking the time to give us a review. I feel I do need to answer the comments you make about the price of the food in the restaurant. The soup to which you refer is not just an ordinary tomato soup from a can. On the Saturday you were here it was a roasted tomato and garlic...

This is a quirky five star set in the dramatic scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. It is not easy to find so be aware that it is two miles outside Conwy. The house was built about the 1890s' with a lovely swimming pool and spa added earlier this century. Hugh is a warm welcoming host.

We recently stayed for a couple of nights and couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel and restaurant. Other reviews have mentioned how kind, welcoming and attentive Hugh and the staff are. We concur - although the hotel was quiet when we stayed, we both felt that the ambience was perfect. Hugh and the team made this one of...

Loved every moment of our stay here while travelling for Mothers Day, from the perfect hosting skills of our host to the comfortable room with sunken bath to the brilliant food both in the evening and at breakfast in the morning, highly recommend, only downside is they didn't allow dogs at ConwayCastle, but that aside had a brill time and...

My husband booked a one night stay at this lovely, friendly Country House. What a super find. An excellent friendly welcome by Hugh which straight away made us reliase we were going to have a nice relaxing weekend, which was much needed. With only 12 rooms and in such a quiet location this is a great place to stay for...

We have just come back from another glorious two night stay at this beautiful hotel. We can't fault it. Hugh, the kindest and most accommodating man ever, and his team go out of their way to make your stay memorable. A swim before breakfast in the pool with a view, what a wonderful way to start the day. The food...

We stayed at the hotel at the same time as the reviewer Stefano G and also experienced the power cut. Hugh couldn't have been more helpful and after a guided tour by him of the amenities, decided to use the pool. It was wonderful, after 4 hours travelling in the car, it was good to relax with a refreshing swim....

We Booked the Cwm Rhondda Sweet in the Sychnant Pass Country House for 3 nights in February 2017. I phoned up the Country House to book after looking on here and was not disappointed. I spoke with Hugh over the phone who I did not know was the owner at the point and asked if his place was dog friendly...

We visited on Valentines night this week, not to stay just for a meal. Really couldn't fault it my wife and I only had a starter and main course with wine plus coffees in the lounge after. The meal was perfect, well presented and a good friendly service. We will definitely visit again. The owner was very welcoming when we...
