Great location on the River Dee, close to all amenities, free car park is a bonus. Room was clean and comfortable, with fantastic views over the river. Staff were friendly and breakfast very good. Lovely to sit on the terrace and have a drink in the sunshine. Would recommend.

It's an old hotel with roons overlooking river, so lovely views from our bedroom and also the dining room. A very nice freshly cooked breakfast. They were very helpful when we wanted to change rooms although we were only there for two nights. My husband was taken ill and had to go to hospital in an ambulance The hotel very... More

Hotel has a nice location on the River Dee, Room was very average, very outdated, the Bed was so hard I tossed and turned all night, I woke up very stiff and sore, Breakfast was very nice and tasty, the toast lady seems like she hates her Job. We couldn't open any windows, so the room was very stuffy, Reception... More

Certain Parts of the hotel in need of refurb, , ie bedrooms, Breakfast very nice although no fresh fruit or yogurts, and no menu on the table. However staff very helpful, polite and courteous. Hotel situated right by River Dee, with lovelly seating area over looking the River. And also right in the heart of llangollen

Not the most impressive looking hotel but anything else would be out of character with the surroundings. Great views of the River Dee from the rear of the hotel. Room facilities were ample, bed OK and I had no problems with the shower.Every where seemed clean. The things that made this hotel were the friendly staff/owner and the value meals.... More

The Royal Hotel provides good accommodation and reasonably priced evening meals. This establishment does not pretend to be a more expensive hotel but I suspect that in a past life it probably was. My room was clean and well appointed but wifi is only available down in the public areas. The views from the restaurant (and my room) over the... More

We stayed here for one night, Central location, warm welcome, comfortable rooms. We enjoyed a glass of something cold on the decking over looking the River Dee. Breakfast was freshly cooked so took a while to come -it was pipping hot but we were disappointed buy the cheap sausage

If you are looking for a nice, family-run hotel, you should stop at The Royal Hotel. You will be welcome by a nice and friendly team who will go out of their way to make your stay agreeable. My room was nice and tidy, although the bed was too soft for me. The food served in the restaurant is very... More

During our trip to North Wales my boyfriend and I visited Llangollen and spent a night in the royal hotel Llangollen during easter break. The Turret suite was spacious with surrounding windows overlooking the river, the view is breathtaking in the sun. The bed is extremely comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful. Lovely bed and breakfast, mainly for the romantic... More
