Our Brecon Beacons Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite offers fantastic views of the central Beacons, with dramatic views over Pen-y-Fan, Cribyn and Corn Du. With two toilet blocks, a well-stocked shop and play areas for children, plus a circular dog walk which leads to a quaint stream and woodland area, this site has plenty of facilities for both caravanners and motorhomers alike to enjoy. Equally, it's easy to explore the surrounding Welsh countryside, either by bike or on foot.

Won't be back - Rude and unfriendly
Arrived Fri 25th Oct. 18 mins early -hoping to wait outside until 1pm. Told 50 vans were due in and we had to leave and come back.No one else was on the vast reception area.
Major road works on the roundabout just outside the site and the A40 was very busy with approaching fast moving traffic,
Told to come back at 13.00. Said there's plenty of laybys outside to wait. Couldn't find anything not occupied so just had to drive around in the traffic until with good timing we got back dead on 1pm
At that time when we did there were already 2 caravans,2 motor homes and a trailer tent parking up on the side of the site we were looking to pitch. Suggest they had been let in at least 10mins early as the process although fast and done on the gate with check in later would take at least 2/3 mins a unit. So bloody mindedness by the blond site warden who rushed out to tell us we couldn't stay on the vast parking area for 8 mins. Excuse being when I requested to wait was for us to imagine if they all came in together, they'd queue out to the rd blocking the bus stop and the wedding venue next door. Absolute nonsense, vans didn't all arrive at once and even if a few did there would be room as the entrance area is vast and in 8 mins they'd let them all in. Speaking to another couple on site they were turned out onto the road on Saturday at 12.55 by the same warden. Said she was very rude. 5 mins early!!!!
Think this is the club today, rather push rules than look for solutions. Pity as the other Brecon site at Aberbran have a totally different approach and are massively helpful even ringing us back when it's safe to come in. Pity it's shut for the season.
Road noise on site was terrible. Constant and on the weekend even more so with high reving motorbikes.
Nicely laid out site with fabulous shower blocks if you use them but we don't so paying for facilities we don't need. Hence won't be back. Suggest the club vet their staff better and train them in customer care.

Excellent site well placed within easy walking distance of Brecon.
Friendly welcoming staff on reception and the facilities are immaculate.
Site well laid out so you are not on top of each other.

Has small secure dog walking area brilliant for our deaf dog that can no longer go off lead in unfamiliar large area as he can’t hear his recall whistle anymore ! Larger area of woodland and tracks as part of the site for longer walk which also takes you to a local pub !

Large well kept children play area with great capacity for ball games. Climbing frames looked in good order.

This isn’t our first visit and as before we will be back !! Thank you wardens you are doing a great job.

Fantastic park with plenty room for a tag axel. Showers and toilets immaculately clean. Lovely staff and great location for exploring Wales. Dan Yr Ogof is within walking distance and the Farm is full of stuff to do (and free with the Dan Yr Ogof ticket).

we had booked in for the night before we were due to attend a family funeral in the area. We travelled after work and needed to stop off for food as i wasn’t feeling well. My husband followed the request in the booking email which said if you are going to arrive after 8pm please call to inform staff. he let her know we would be arriving between 8.15 and 8.30 but the woman was so rude on the phone and told us because we had said he had been to work and we had stopped for food she was cancelling our booking, keeping our deposit and we could no longer stay. her behaviour was shocking to say the least. not something we’re have encountered at any other campsites we have stayed at and certainly not acceptable for camping and motor home club. we will be sending an official complaint when we return home.

Have stayed at this site over the last seven years. It has always been run very well with strict rules and these rules make the site a nice, safe place to stay. However our last stay was not like previous stays.
The wardens were unsociable and where as it is normal to acknowledge you with a chat or a wave when passing- this was not the case. I would go as far as to say they were unfriendly. Before our stay we rung and left several messages but not once had a return call.
Their knowledge of the computer booking system was very poor.
We had two cars - one was parked by our Motorhome which we had paid for and we were parking the other car in the car park. However I had gone into Brecon to get groceries and as it was raining I had taken the second car in to unload my groceries. A warden came passed and said that if I did this again I would be asked to leave!
Every site we visit we fully comply with all site rules but expect in return especially in a Caravan club site to be treated with respect and courtesy.

Well kept site ruined by the rude unprofessional, abrupt staff. Whilst I accept the 1pm arrival rule I don’t accept being spoken to in such a condescending manner because we arrived 14 minutes early.

The staff would be better employed by Border Force and need to be reminded they are the front facing staff of a hospitality business.

An email of complaint to the CAMC was replied to some three weeks later with poor cut and pasted response of which two thirds of which detailed the 1pm policy.

We’ve been to this site many times but are now looking elsewhere.

We planned this visit earlier this year with our friends who we met some years ago at Min-y-don Harlech. This meet up was due to our joint love for Springer Spaniels and was to be the start of our five week tour of Wales. We have visited the Brecon site many times over the last 15 years and have always been very happy to be staying here.
Anyway to the issue, on Wednesday the 6th August at Approximately 9am we woke up and went to take our dogs out for their morning wee wee. My wife who is disabled significantly with serious illnesses and conditions and a recently diagnosed Brain Tumour was heading for the gate
Which was 10 metres from our Caravan door with one of our pups on a lead and our female being put onto her lead when a warden approached her ordering her with aggressive tones to “get that dog on a lead” my wife was trying to get her onto the lead as she squatted down to do her wee, after being in the caravan for 10 hours over night. The place were she wee’d was on a piece of scrubland , untended next the the fence , he continued to repeat his orders in the most unpleasant tone you could imagine, My wife explained again that she was now on a lead but he kept raising his voice . I at this time, was just leaving the caravan with our other dog and asked him what the problem was and he proceeded to try and scold me in a similar manner even though I was trying to make him understand that we had all our dogs on a lead and were leaving the site .

I have been either in a family membership of the club or my own membership for over 45 years and have never faced such hostility from Wardens before,

So as we we’re trying to leave I asked the male ( a tallish man with short brown/grey hair with a goaty beard0, if he had had a row with someone or his partner who was also shouting instructions as I couldn’t understand why anyone would verbally order someone with such aggression without approaching the situation in a calm professional way… it was unwarranted and showed little command of either customer services or interpersonal skills required for the job. So as we approached the gate the man walked at me ( I believe to try and intimidate me) and walked into my personal space . I stood still and asked him what he was doing ?.. he said I’m going through the gate, I stood aside and asked him if he behaving in this manner if perhaps he was in the right job dealing with the public, to which he replied do you think your on the right Caravan site and perhaps we should move if we don’t like it. I responded by saying we would be leaving tomorrow (a day earlier than wed paid for ) his wife/partner instructed us also that our dog couldn’t even wee on our pitch , I said, what even in an emergency? I then asked her she had dogs as her reality of dogs was not real, i said to both of them that I would be putting a review on Trust pilot.. he turned to me a smirked and said “Fill Your Boots”… I was astounded , my wife was so affected by this wardens vitriol and nastiness that she was physically shaking and had to return to the caravan as it had made her very ill .

In conclusion, we left a day earlier than we’d planned, my wife feeling very ill which had triggered a massive auto immune attack . It had also ruined our start to our Holiday.

I’m not sure if some of the wardens employed but the CMHC understands that:

1. We are members and contribute to the club in many ways .

2.We as members of the club and by booking our stays at club sites ensure that the income of wardens is met by paying members

3. That we are actually on vacation/holiday and are paying for a standard and level of customer service fitting for paying guests and members. We are NOT on a vocation ,that was the choice of the wardens who accepted employment , it’s imperative that they understand the very basics of their roles.

4. We are responsible dog owners and never allow our dogs to toilet anywhere and make an effort to always take our dogs to the closest point away from pitches, we also whilst at Brecon CMHC site, whilst out waking our dogs on the designated areas, picked up many other dogs poos left by others. We are really upset and offended by the actions of this couple /wardens and I hope the club take account of many of the other similar reports of unpleasant behaviour by the resident staff on Trust pilot and other social sites.

We will not be returning to Brecon CMHC,

A lovely site, well laid out, internal hedging, helpful staff. We had been advised to avoid pitches on the perimeter due to traffic noise so we did and were not aware of any noise. We were on pitch 70.
Toilets and showers, warm, clean modern and plentiful.
This was the last site visited on a 2 week road trip over Easter 2024 and was definitely the best. Our first CAMC club site - very impressed!
Would have given 5 stars had there been a shop or cafe/take away.
