Detailed Reviews
I stayed at Cribyn Lodge for two nights recently and really enjoyed my time there.
First and foremost, Pete was an absolute star.
He was very welcoming upon my arrival and ensured that I had everything I needed during my stay.
The room was spotless with nice views of the surrounding landscape, the bed was very comfortable and I got a good nights sleep.
The bathroom was spotlessly clean.
The lodge is also within easy reach of the town, within minutes you are in the town centre.
A great stay

We had a lovely stay, short and sweet, but all that was needed for an event we were doing in the area. Pete was a great host, welcoming and friendly. Our room had everything we needed, no tea/coffee and shared bathroom but that was fine in that it is a guesthouse, it was just what we needed. Nice view of the mountains, slept very well and breakfast was perfect and very varied. Lots of time slots available to suit and lots or options to choose, all laid out nicely. Good stay, we'd go back. Thank you Pete.

My husband and I had a fantastic time at Cribyn Lodge. We were welcomed by Pete on arrive who showed us around the property which is lovely! He gave us lots of local knowledge and ideas of what to do and where to go. The Lodge has everything that you possible need even the option of watching a film on a cinema style screen!! But the absolute must do when you stay here is have one of Pete’s amazing massages!! I am a very busy mum of 3 boys and get very little time for myself or to relax and this was the best massage experience I have had. I felt fantastic afterwards and had the best night sleep I have had since having the children. Thank you so much Pete.

We didn't realise this property was essentially a room in a house. We felt very uncomfortable as we prefer hotels to the more intimate guesthouse.
We had an external private bathroom. Not great. Shower products were basically what you would find in someone's home e.g. Half used Aldi style palm olive style shower gel. The bed was comfortable but there was no mirror or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. These were available in the communal kitchen downstairs. The host greeted us in trackie bottoms and vest! Breakfast was poor. Mini boxes of rice crispies, croissant and fruit. No offer of toast. We had a power cut in room. Told it was probably the dodgy wiring. That summed up the experience. Dodgy. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Not worth £110 per night.

This was our last port of call on a tour of Wales and it was great to meet Pete who runs the show here. He is extremely welcoming and helpful and he also prepares the breakfast which my partner in particular enjoyed. Expect plenty of fresh fruit, yoghurt and croissants etc, not a cooked breakfast which was good for us wanting to monitor the calorie count.
In respect of the room, ours had an adjoining bathroom across the landing which was specifically for our room, this took a bit of getting used to but I believe some of the rooms (which are in two houses next to one another) have en-suite. However, everything was clean and tidy. The accommodation is a very short walk into town as well.

Pete the owner is very attentive and tries hard to ensure guests are happy. However it is difficult to see beyond the dirty bathroom, polyester bobbly bedding, tired towels and questionable bathrobes. ( not very fresh) .there is no hospitality tray - very unusual and a definite downer. Breakfast is pretty terrible . Horrid coffee, microwaved packet pancakes . Sugary yoghurts and cereals

Did not meet expectations raised by description of property and reviews. Breakfast poor (4 mediocre croissants and one pan au chocolate between 4 people). Basic cereals and had to ask for pancakes (supermarket, microwaved} which were offered evening before. Located at edge of town, so an easy walk in. Private parking a plus. Just disappointing overall and expensive for what was offered.

Probably the best accommodation (value for money) on my trip through Wales. Very friendly host, a large, clean room and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was made to order and excellent. Off-street parking behind the house was perfect for a motorcycle.
Close to town centre, river and Brecon cathedral.

We had a lovely one night stay at Cribyn Lodge for our anniversary. Our room was en-suite, lovely, spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We both had a massage with Pete which was an amazing relaxing experience. I would highly recommend one of these. We also used the cinema room which was so nice to sit with your feet up after a meal in the town which is only a short walk away. The choice for breakfast was outstanding and very fresh and tasty. Thank you Pete for making our stay so relaxing.

Stayed one night but could have stayed a month!! Very clean and comfortable and lovely breakfast but the massage with Pete was amazing. Would highly recommend for a complete lockdown unwind. Very convenient for wonderful walks and do visit the canal.
