We are a family run guest house in the historic market town of Brecon, half a mile from the town centre on the main road from Cardiff. The house is an old farmhouse which dates back to the 1800's and still has original beams in some of the rooms. All our rooms are en-suite and have LCD TV's, radio, tea and coffee making facilities. We also have a comfortable residents lounge with original features, such as beams and fireplace. There is free Wi-Fi available in all the bedrooms.. We have a spacious breakfast room with a good choice of full Welsh breakfast or vegetarian option, served in the dining room between 08:00 and 09:00 daily. We have our own private car park for up to 12 cars and a lock up garage for anyone with push bikes.

Free WiFi access - great signal
Great location on foot to the city centre and to the mountains, easy to find
Great service, friendly environment, friendly and helpful staff.
Would definitely recommend to family and friends and would definitely be coming back to Wales and to the guest house accommodation.
Full Welsh breakfast was tasty with plenty of teas, coffee and juices available.
Quantity and quantity was superb.
Weather was kind to us which helped a lot as our trips was on foot.
Plenty of leaflets and activity information provided at the accommodation
Due to covid restrictions rooms weren’t cleaned during our stay - but this wasn’t an issue, was still provided with all toiletries and room accessories that we needed throughout the stay
ensuite bathroom included was great- clean, tidy and well equipped.
Check in and out was no hassle
Thank you all for making our stay pleasant. Regards Rebekah and David

We spent 8 nights at Old Castle Farm and we really enjoyed our stay.

The owners, David and Mandy were very kind and friendly. We liked the location (quarter a mile drive from A40 and A470, and less than 15 minutes walk from town centre). There were dedicated parking spaces at the rear of the property. Hearty breakfast was served (toast, cereals, full Welsh, juice and coffee, with other choices available). WiFi was available throughout the property, including our room in the attic. We felt safe as the Covid-19 threat was treated seriously (social distancing was observed, and hand sanitiser was available in common areas).

The welcome as always was warm and friendly and great care was taken to make us feel safe with everything being cleaned and sanitized. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed drinks tv etc, Mandy and David were great hosts and nothing was to much trouble. The food was lovely and for the price it is a great bargain. We would highly recommend staying here and we will be staying here again soon.

We needed to drop off some furniture to family members that had moved to the area.

We arrived and was greeted by David who is a happy chappie and answered all our questions.

There is parking literally right outside the door for disabled people but it is first come first served. However, there is a B and B guest car park at the rear of the property and a short walk through the garden which is lit up with lights to see where you are going.

We were late for breakfast as we slept in. However, Mandy and David came to the rescue with bacon and sausage sandwiches with hash browns which we had down by the river which was lovely and relaxing.

The room has 2 single beds and was absolutely spotless. I normally do a once over to see if anything needs to be cleaned where ever I go but when I was checking, there was nothing to clean, totally spotless.

I only have 1 thing but that is personal taste, the window can open and is great for fresh air but if you open the blinds people walking past look straight into the room, I know it's a bit old fashioned, but net curtains might be an option for privacy.

Would I stay here again?.... definitely a yes from us and a huge thank you to David, Mandy and Addie for looking after us.....Oh and an extra thank you to David as I locked myself out and he was very quick letting me back in. :-)

Absolutely amazing place to stay, if you ever are in brecon you have to stay here, the owners are absolutely lovely and the service we received was phenomenal i have never been treated so well during a stay. They have a garden, breakfast area, spacious rooms, amazing owners, and the place was spotless.

I can't recommend this place enough to anyone staying in brecon it is also close to town which was very handy for us.

We stayed in a family room, which was spacious and spotless. we also had some complimentary shower gel, a bar of soap, and a shampoo and conditioner, which was left in our room ready for us to arrive, we got escorted to our room and asked about a time we would like to go for breakfast.

We had breakfast at 8.50am there was 3 or 4 people down there very friendly fellow customers and the 2 ladys were lovely at breakfast too, we ordered 2 welsh breakfasts which was lovely with great produce, it was very quick service and the food was served shortly after. Definitely less than 5 minutes.

Thankyou so much old castle farm house for being amazing, we will definitely be back ♥️

We stayed at Old Castle Farm twice in a week as part of a trip. It was a welcoming, traditional B&B, with great parking.

The first visit was while restrictions were still in place so we had a continental breakfast delivered to the room. It was a lovely breakfast - lots of choice, with croissants, pain au chocolat, cereal, yoghurt, orange juice and fresh fruit.

On our second stay, the government had allowed reopening of restaurants so we were able to have breakfast in the dining room. Wow! What a breakfast. Delicious.

While making us feel welcome, the COVID restrictions and social distancing rules were followed. The set-up was great and we felt safe at all times.

We had a lovely night's sleep both times, in spacious rooms with comfy beds.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Brecon, we would definitely recommend. It is great value for money.

Booked here for a weekend visit to my hometown with my wife and young children. Mandy and David were very accommodating and even supplied a travel cot for the baby. The room , a lovely ensuite was spacious looking out on the well kept garden. Breakfast was perfect each morning, full cooked Welsh breakfast amongst other choices. Amy was all but to happy to help with anything we needed. It was a real shame we had to leave, I miss home but little stays in a place like this made it memorable. Thank you to all the staff.

A group of 13 of us visited for a one night stay whilst in the area.
David the owner was really helpful during the lead up to ur stay, answering questions & suggesting room configurations.

We weren’t in the guesthouse very long but when we were, we were made to feel very welcome.
Clean rooms and bedding with the usual facilities.

A very nice breakfast in the morning, with a full Welsh or other alternatives on offer.

We would stay again if in the area.

Spent a month here whilst away for placement, Mandy and david have been nothing but incredible since I arrived, nothing has been too much trouble and they are always on hand when needed and polite also. Breakfast in the morning is freshly cooked and great portions, also no waiting around so nice and quick service. Throughout my time there I was in a few different rooms and each one of them were very cosy and comfortable, own bathroom with shower. Would highly recommend and would definitely return, thankyou for your fantastic hospitality!

I stayed for 5 nights at the Old Castle Farm on a motorbike touring holiday. Dave and Mandy were very welcoming and I felt I was a guest in their home which was really nice. Their guest house is a 10 minute walk into the centre of town and there was off-street parking for my bike in a secluded area which was great from a security point of view. My room was large, warm and well appointed with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was also large with a reasonable shower. Breakfast choice was very good and the food delicious. The wifi and TV worked fine. All in all, a very comfortable stay. Thanks!

Using the T4 Bus, ask the bus driver to drop yopu off at the St David's Church Bus Stop. The said Old Castle Farm Guest House is only 100 yards away, i.e., from the Cardiff road end side. From Kareem, Abuja, Nigeria [Following a response gotten from Manager of the Guest House]
